Were/how can i get password for NFS UDERGROUND 2 v1.2 patch?

Try uninstalling and then re-installing. I know it sounds cliche, but it actually works.

if you are trying to run NFS MW then you also have to install the patch .. also read the instructions

nfs.exe "need for speed app." are you playing a ea game?update your graphics ,audio and keyboard drivers.rt, click on it go to properties check the compatibility mode. shutdown any unnecessary process in taskmanager,lots of people having problems.ea is working on a patch if you cracked the game yourself,it might be a bad crack..overwighting nfs.exe with original nfs,exe also helped a couple guys,good luck let me know if you discover any other fixes

this usually happens when u have less memory available on your RAM or your Graohics card. 
Try upgrading ur GFX card or RAM or Both.
When i faced this peroblem, it helped me tons.

Have you tried to check for game patches/updates to see if this is a common issue and have been solved?

Also, try unplugging any joysticks you may have connected.

I had the same problem with my steering wheel and my gamepad. I fixed the problem by installing the new patch available here: http://needforspeed.com/portal/site/nfs/news/details/?contentId=196a93dca5c5f110VgnVCM100000100d2c0aRCRD Just download the patch, double click the file, let it install, and start up the game. You can mount the shares something like this:

mount -t cifs -o username=backup,password=YoUrPaSS //192.168.0.145/projects /mnt/nas/projects/

...where 192.168.0.145 is IP of SS4000-E and /projects is the shares folder
and /mnt/nas/projects/ is folder you have created on your Linux box
