Freezer keeps freezing up. But the fridge doesn't stay cool.

What temperature/setting is the fridge on? Are there any deformities in the shell of the fridge? Is it's door open for long periods of time? When was the last time the cooling gas was checked by a technician, and is there any ice covering the cooling fins in the freezer or fridge compartment?

The reason the fridge doesnt stay cool is because the freezer keeps icing up, try defrosting the freezer and try cleaning the condensor coils and this may help.

Freezer stays frozen, but refrigerator doesn't stay cold

Its defrost problem. When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool.Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Refrigerator doesn't get colder than 55 degrees.

Its defrost problem, the freezer should cool, then freeze, then defrost cycle should start. In your case freezer is cooling, then freezing, but its not defrosting. That's why fridge section is not cooling.-------

If it is a frost free freezer, is is probably your defrost assembly that is bad. The leaking water might be associated or another problem. Is the refrigerator section staying cool?

My daughter's mini fridge has a freezer compartment. Her issue is, if she turns it up high enough so the freezer freezes, the fridge compartment also freezes everything; if she turns it down so that the...

This is a drawback of most mini-fridges. Start by defrosting everything. Then fill ice cube trays with water and keep lowering the setting until the water freezes. Just go a little lower, no more. Fridge should not freeze food. If the fridge stays closed all the time food will freeze. Also if the freezer element gets ice buildup it must be defrosted. Not automatic like home fridge. Most kids today weren't born when the last fridges that had to be defrosted were in service.

Fridge side won't regulate temp. however the freezer will freeze to -9 and stay right there! How do you test the thermostat? or is this a common problem. The fridge was built in 01' and nothing has been...

the thermostat is either off or on, and it controls the fridge temperature the freezer is just a by product of the remaining gas from the fridge usually -20/30 degrees lower than the fridge, two problems would cause this leaked gas would reduce the cooling capacity of the freezer but the fridge should stay ok although the compressor would be constantly on trying to keep temperature. the thermostat can fail after time not being able to keep a regular temp and not switching the compressor on enough to cool the system. unless you have a frost free where is usually a relay that controls the compressor witch have a life time rating of so many operations.

BOSCH FRIDGE

If you have a two door (fridge freezer) some of the newer fridges these days have the cooling come from the freezer to cool the fridge part. Maybe try altering the freezer temp and see if that makes any difference.
