Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
I'd say it's a pretty good sign that your hard drive is dead. (I hope you have backups)
It's pretty easy to replace.
There is a panel with one screw on the side underneath this model laptop. You can remove the screw and pull the drive bracket out with the drive in it. You can remove the drive from the bracket and buy a 2.5" EIDE laptop drive to put in. From there you can reinstall Windows from your system disk.
When removing and replacing drive, keep in mind there may be a plastic pin adapter on the old drive that you will want to put on the new drive....be careful not to bend the pins.
