Question about Computers & Internet
How do i prepare an external hard drive to install win xp onto a laptop. The laptop sees the drive and I can set it to boot from the external drive. I tried just copying the installation files from the win xp cd, but i got an "ntldr missing" error. Can you help?
Umm...is your laptop crashed??? Usually ntlldr issues ****. try to delete the former installation so a new ntldr file can be installed so as to not conflict with the damaged ntldr file that is on the pc blocking the install. It sounds like your setup is ok...at the very least get another xp cd to make sure the disk is not damaged that you are loading windows from.
