Question about Samsung CLP-510 Laser Printer

1 Answer

It stops printing after 4/5 sheets of double sided printing. The message is then "processing" until I turn the machine off. I then have to go through the whole resetting process to use it again

Having had a brief OK printing session (17 pages single sided 6/7 pages duplex) following reinstallation of driver software my screen now says that printing was not possible because "no pages were selected" despite correct pages being entered by me.

  • timspencer Mar 15, 2011

Having printed 16 single sides and 5 double sides and reinstalled the software I am now told that following my instructions "printing is not possible" because "no pages were entered" .

  • timspencer Mar 16, 2011

I have uninstalled the software, successfully reinstalled it (according to the messages I have received) and I am still told that printing was not possible as no pages had been requested. They had, both in single page and double sided, but now I'm stuck and can't print anything.
    Dispairing!

  • timspencer Mar 16, 2011

Thanks, particularly for the link and its general message. Current problem is that my request for a print job is met by the news that printing is impossible because no pages have been requested! This not so but I can get no further.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software using the CD but still no good

Hi Timspencer,

If system doesn't print anything and stuck at the "processing" it might caused by a corrupted driver or might be a chip issue. There are several ways that you can try to correct this problem, either you reinstall the driver or reset the chips. Here are some steps that you can apply to diagnose if this is a software or hardware issue. Please follow the instructions below:

1. Reinstall the driver of your printer. Please use the driver disc that came with your machine.

2. Try to restart the computer then connect the printer using the USB cable. Please make sure that all connections are properly intact.

3. Now try to run a print self-test.

--> if you're still encountering the same issue, I recommend to reset the chips using a chip resetter.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi Tim,

If installing the driver does nothing, I recommend now to use a chip resetter to correct the problem. The chips of CLP-510 cartridges has a counter that is updated every time you use it. The only way that you can reset the chip is to use a device that would write data to the chip to place zero into the page counter. Please try to contact the manufacturer if they could provide you a chip resetter. You may also try to search online for the CLP-510 chip resetter, some vendors are selling CLP-510 resetter separately or combined with toner for a very reasonable prize.

    Hope it may help you.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi Tim,

    Another thought for this issue:

If you go into "printers and faxes" in the control panel and right click on the printers do you get the options "use printer offline", "use printer online", "pause printing", "resume printing" or "cancel all documents"?

I suggest to select the options "cancel all documents", "resume printing" and "use printer online" if they are available, do not select "use printer offline" or "pause printing".

You may want to check this link for your reference also.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

Paper jam

Duplo and Karagatan were early forms of Philippine drama. The Duplo was a poetic debate by trained men and women in the ninth night, which is the last night of the mourning period for the dead. The Karagatan was also a poetic debate like the Duplo, except its participants were amateurs. Both were held in homes and their theme was about a ring that fell into the sea.

Error message to "Load Paper"

Push something thicker than a plain sheet of paper through. Cut a side of a manilla folder into a 8.5"x11" and let the printer try to grab it during a copy. After doing it's normal "grab the right side until it's skewed and stop", continue to try to push it through.
