Question about Pinnacle Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Pinnacle Liquid Chrome V6 Editing system (about 6 years old). I am trying to import an AVI file from a Fuji Finepix f40 camera. The codex of the file is mjpg. If I download this codec can you tell me where to put it on the system, so that I can play and edit this avi file? many thanks

Hi thanks for this - maybe a stupid question, but when I've downloaded the codecs you suggest - where do I put them on the editing system computer - in which folder or file?

I have a Dual Xeon 800mz motherboard, Dual Xeon 3.4ghz CPU's, 256MB PCi-express Dual head graphics card. Many thanks.

Op system - Window's XP. I'm not very computer literate. I can drive the editing system expertly - but what's under the bonnet (hood) is a bit of a mystery!!

Thanks - I'll try that shortly - Just to check, it won't affect the existing codecs and their functionality?

  • irg Mar 15, 2011

That seems quite serious as I want the system to still handle other types of video files - I just want to add the capability to use AVI files with the codec mjpg - if it resets all the other codecs, that will mess up my system.

Hi - I've installed it and I'm getting images - they have to render, but that's excellent. However no audio - I've checked all the audio boxes when down loading, there is audio when I play the clip in WM player, but not in the edit system. I know this is probably not your expertise, but might you have a solution? - I'm nearly there! Many thanks again.

  • irg Mar 15, 2011

Thank you for that - but I have audio working normally, on other tracks in the edit, it's just the the AVI clip has been imported without audio. When I first imported it - no picture no audio. After your advice of loading the K-Lite codec - now I have picture, but still no audio. So the system is ok - is just isn't recognizing the audio track. regards

Hi - that made no difference - but I've got a work round, by converting the audio to Wav and laying that under the video and it works - so thank you very much for your help and patience! kind regards

Avi movie file will not transfer to hard drive, file size 1.5 gb, about 30 mins long, will playback fine on camera, have tried finepix and microsoft viewer software as well as just copying it across but...

You can try to go to my computer, find the file that the camera is on, and then leave that window open. Then go to my documents, leave that window open. Go back to my computer folder. Click and grab the video file and drag it over to the my videos file and let go of the mouse so it will drop in that folder. Otherwise try kodak easy share or quicktime

I can't find the .avi files that finepix downloaded onto my computer. This software ****! I never had so much trouble downloading photo and movies with my olympus.

Do a Start> Search for '.avi'.
Also, check the settings of your FinePix program for the destination directory/folder....Or go directly to C:/ Program files> Finepix and check the folder therein.

I have a fuji s2000hd, i loaded the video onto my computer, but i can't get my movies to import onto my editing program

I understand your problem and I have the same camera that videos in MP4 format (H.264) which is not user-friendly to windows movie maker, therefore, I downloaded or purchased a program that converts these MP4 file back into .AVI format, with no loss in quality, and then added them to windows movie maker on Vista, which then would accept the .AVI format to put the clips together. Once saving to your computer after the files are compiled and can then send the movie you have made to Windows DVD to turn into a DVD formatted movie. Works for me everytime. Unfortunately, this is a time consuming process but has been worth it for me.
