Your best bet is to try and restore it again with a close watch out for language settings. During the restore it should ask you what language you would like the OS to be loaded in.

My buddy has an IBM ThinkCentre Desktop and he wants to nrestore it to factory settings because it was used for a hotel and when they got thier new PCs they sold all thier old ones

The best way to restore the ThinkCentre desktop back to the factory default is to re-install Windows.
You need a Windows installation CD (XP, or Vista) with the product installation code. After installing Windows then install the Thinkcentre device drivers for this model desktop which you download from the IBM ThinkCentre WEB site, you may need to download the LAN driver from a computer that has Internet connection and install it on the ThinkCentre so it has Internet access to download the remaining device drivers OR you may decide to download all the device drivers and copy and install them on the ThinkCentre.

nope...if it has a 110.V plug .and u use the american 110v ..power supply it should not matter ..the supply it is an transformer anyway ..and the actual power in the system is 12V ...the issue is some hardware problem ...or ...better needs a reinstalling of the operation system ... or it has a cooler problem that close the system when over heating ...
the fact that it does boot to bios settings its a good thing ...just take a good look and see what it is saying ....restore the system from bios to the default settings (optimal factory settings ) and try to boot it normally ...if it doesn't want to ...after restoring factory settings ... remove bios battery and try again ..but this just in case yo know for sure that the Operation system its ok ...if you are not sure do not trouble it ..and just reinstall from scratch...

the computer needs to be set to start from the cd, make sure you got the right cd in the drive and then read and follow this page to change the boot order so that the computer starts from the cd - http://www.whitecanyon.com/how-to-change-boot-order.php

Ibm restore to factory setting

You have not explained what is wrong with your computer.
Is the laptop working, does it boot up into Windows?
What are you trying to restore?
Are you trying to get into a previous Restore Point?
The Access button takes you into the BIOS, you can change the BIOS settings back to the Default settings (ie the factory default settings).
It is difficult to offer a solution without knowing the exact nature of the problem.

Ethernet, Multimedia, Video Controller is not recognized

IBM has the worst site I have seen so far for driver downloads. I have posted a link for you to go to IBM. You'll have to go through the downloads & find what you need. Like Lan drivers, audio drivers, video & so forth. You may find a restore CD download. You do not want to install the restore CD. Just pull the drivers off of it. http://www.ibm.com/search/?v=14&en=utf&lang=en&cc=us&hpp=10&catx=Y1zkzPz66zazbAzNA&q=ThinkCentre+A50p&cp=top&lv=c&cat=P9&x=10&y=10
Good luck, this will take some time but should also work for you!
