My Dewalt cordless drill, model DC970, is fully charged and turns. However, when I try to turn a screw, the drill does not move. What should I do?

There is a collar that controls the torque of the driver just behind the chuck. Rotate it until the drill icon lines up for full power.

Get the battery tested. The light draws a very small amount of power and will work if the battery is just about dead, but to operate the drill, you need a strong battery.

How do you get the pull cord back houesing off. do i have to take the carbarater off first. The rivets broke off that hold the pull cord houseing to the flyweel housing and i have to use nuts and bults...

Easy fix for your rewind problem. We just drill out the old rivets and pop in new rivets from the outside. Very easy very quick. Dont need to take anything apart and lose the factory torque /locktite on bolts. We do not use screws because there is so very little space between the flywheel and starter cover if screws come loose they may cause damage. If you do not have a rivet gun, check with local pawn shops, thrift stores etc. and get one for a few dollars. Good luck with your repair.

Makita Cordless drill light stays on after releasing trigger

THe light will drain the battery. Your issue resides in the electronics circuit. The light itself is an LED bulb, not a whole lot of current draw. Your best bet is to take it to a service center and have them warrenty the board for the electronics. Can't fix this with conventional tactics. If the board is bad, they will replace it free as a manufacturers defect.

My craftsman generator model # 580.32672 starts but will not put out any power ive tried a few suggestions but nothing has worked

Look in the manual. There is likely something about field flashing the magnetic field. According to the Briggs and Straton web site, the easiest way to do this is to.
1) start the generator
2) plug an electric drill into the generator (without drill bit)
3) make sure drill is set to forward direction (if a reversable drill.
4) pull the trigger on the drill.
5) If the drill does not start, spin the drill's chuck clockwise (When looking down at the chuck from the drill bit end). Spin counter-clockwise if holding it like a pistol and pointing away from yourself.
6) Do this several times (hard) until the the generator will kick in and suddenly make the drill spin at full speed.
Be careful not to drop the drill or poke someone with it as you celebrate success.

Generator starts with and runs great, but theres no current on my toy hauler

Johnny,

If generators are not used regularly, they need the their magnetic field to be charged (or flashed). This can be done by plugging an electric motor into the socket while the generator is running and spin the motor by hand. The hand-spun motor will push some electric current back into the generator and magnetize it enough to start it.
