Hi I have an Acer Aspire 6935 Laptop and I am wanting to do a full factory restore. My problem is the laptop came with Windows Vista installed but I recently installed windows 7 so now my ALT F10 wont work and the erecovery is no longer installed. I have downloaded it from the Acer website and installed it but when it says please restart to continue the factory restore it just restarts windows as normal. I used ParTEDIT32 to view the PQservice partition and its still there and as far as I know its in tacted. I also tried creating recovery discs using the erecovery program and it created 2 DVDs but when I use them they dont work, an error apearers. It loads up the windows files needed, asks me my language etc, but when its about to start installed the files the error apearers. Now im cant remember what error it is and i dont want to re try a third time to find out as if I do then my pc wont boot up. It says missing bootmgr and Im forced to re-install Windows 7. Ive tried running CMD and and accessing the x drive (pqservice) and typed mbrwrwin.exe install rtmbr.bin but it says its not recongised. please help. Many Thanks

How to configuration hard drive to factory default

Step 1:
Which operating system ?
Laptop computers can be wonderful devices, except when the need to troubleshoot arises. Acer laptops are no different. A quick way to fix many problems with an Acer laptop running Windows is to reset it to factory settings. Resetting your Acer laptop to factory settings can eliminate slow operation, registry problems, virus problems and spyware issues. What's more, a factory reset of your laptop may reduce the need for a full reinstallation of Windows.

Back up all necessary data to an external device such as a disk, flash drive or hard drive Make sure all programs are closed and shut down your Acer laptop. Detach any external hardware such as an external hard drive or printer. Press the Power button to boot your Acer laptop. Press "Alt-F10" on your keyboard when the Acer screen appears at the start of the boot-up process. Wait a moment while Windows loads the reset files. Select "Restore System from factory default" in the Acer eRecovery Management window. Click "Next" on the next screen to continue. Click "Next" on the following destination information window. This will pop up a notice telling you that resetting your Acer laptop will erase all data and restore the laptop to its original settings and configuration. Click "OK" in the notice window to proceed with resetting your Acer laptop. Wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Restore to factory default

Unlike other laptops, Acer notebook/laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer Aspire 4315 to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer Aspire 4315 laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer one to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer Aspire 4315 is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your notebook data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

Acer aspire 7730 running vista BSOD error startuprepairv2

At this point I would suggest to try a full system restore as the sytem files might be corrupted. You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps:

Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

How restore to systeme

Hi
This is the only way to restore the system by switching on the laptop and before it show Acer on the press ALT + F10 in this order ALT + F10, ALT + F10 this will take you to the restore mode and from there you click on restore to factory defualt BUT if you formated the Data (d:\) drive then you have to buy vista and download the drivers from the internet

This is the only way I know to restore the OS 100% original

I have a feeling you will have contact www.acer.com for them to reset the emanager password for you.
Have you tried to restore this unit,
It shouldn't be passworded either just reset back to original install.

Let me know if this helps ,Misterdj
