Question about NorStar Nortel Venture EFA Phone

Open Question

I have a nortel venture phone that has caller id but it does not work and the ringer only bleeps on incoming calls. I have other cordless phone using the same line. Could the two different phones cause a problem? The cordless phone AT&T works fine, only the venture phone is affected. In the nortel manual, it said to unplug all the other phones before connecting the venture phone but I didn't, would this make a difference? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Your M7310 phone does not have caller ID. The phone system can have caller ID and there are a few different options you could have for phone system and caller ID packages. You should try to find out which Nortel phone system you have and possibly what type of Caller ID unit.

I suspect you cannot do what you are looking for because as I mentioned, the phone itself does not have caller ID and only displays what the phone system tells it to. It is more complicated for a caller ID system to store a list of previous calls when you have multiple lines and multiple phones. Would you want to see a list of every call that has come in, just the calls that rang at your station or just the calls that rang and you answered at your station.... BUT... this may be ansered in a user guide specific to your phone system or your caller ID interface.

SOURCE: Can not view caller ID with call waiting service

The Meridian 9516 is not a visual call waiting (VCW) phone...meaning that you will not see the caller name and number of the second caller when you are on the line..you must purchase a separate call display box (around $10) if you can still find them., but make sure that box is visual call display capable.

Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists
Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information.

When there is an incoming Call, the display shows,


You must have caller ID provided by your local phone company for Call ID to work. This is an additional charge on your phone bill.

VIBRATE STAYS ON


Follow the below instructions and you can remove the vibrate state. I have included a link to download the phone's manual as a PDF file.

types of calls, and types of messages.
Downloaded Ringers can be downloaded right to your
phone.
Preprogrammed Ringers include a variety of standard
ringer types and familiar music.
Vibrating Ringer alerts you to calls or messages without
disturbing others.
Selecting Ringer Types for Voice Calls
Your phone provides a variety of ringer options that allow you
to customize your ring and volume settings. These options
allow you to identify incoming calls by the ring.
To select a ringer type for voice calls:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Sounds > Ringer Type >
Voice Calls.
2. Select With Caller ID or No Caller ID.

I received no ID on my incoming calls. I have ensured caller taking ID is checked "ON" in phone options but some reason I do not have caller ID on my incoming calls. Anyone help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you may need to reset and clear the phone then try again if that does not work then you can try a reflash of the firmware on the phone

you would have to saved the contacts on your phone memory then assign ringer id to them and pics as well.
