Your calculator is set for GRAD instead of DEG, it means that it takes your input in gradian instead of degrees. You should press the DRG button until it displays DEG instead of GRAD.

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

If you mean that the calculator is giving you an error 2 it means that the value cannot be correct, for sin and cos you can only enter numbers between -1 and 1.

If it is giving you the incorrect answer, make sure that the question is not actually in radians and that you are entering the amount in correctly.

If you have anymore questions there is a dedicated website http://www.mathsatsharp.co.za/ where you can leave questions about the SHARP calculators on the student page and they will be answered within a week maximum.

Regardless, that is the markings on the SHIFT key on Sharp Calculators. The 2ndF key accesses the functions that are marked on the face of the calculator, not on the top of the keys.

No solution, but I have the exact same problem with a Sharp EL-531W calculator. Doesn't matter whether mode is degrees, radians, etc., and resetting with button in back has no effect.

Hello,

You have several number display formats : Normal1, Normal2, Sci, ENG

If a number is too small or too large and the calculator cannot display it with the necessary number of digits (to satisfy your of decimal digits) the calculator uses Scientific notation

7.4E-14 =7.4x10^(-14)

If you were to use the norma1 or normal2 format you will have

.0000000000000074 but your calculator displays only the first 10 places

You should learn to use and interpret results in scientific format.

Hope it helps

for the mean, just add them together and divide answer by the amount of figures you put in.
as for the others, i'm not sure a standard scientific calculator will do that

Hello,

This calculator does not have a program to which you give the equation, and which returns the solutions. Sorry. You have to use the formulas you learned.

Let the equation be ax^2 +bx+c=0

You compute the discriminant Callit disc.

**disc= (b^2-4*a*c)**

1. If discriminant is larger than zero you have two solutions. Let us call them x1 and x2.

Then** x1=(-b+square root of disc)/(2*a)**

and**x2= (-b-square root of disc)/(2*a)**

2.** If disc=0** , square root of disc =0 and** x1=x2=-b/(2*a)**

3.**If disc is negative, there are no real solutions.**

To find the solutions you**replace a, b, and c **by their numerical values, to calculate disc, its square root, and calculate X1 and X2.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

Press the reset button on the back. If that does not work, batteries may be dead. Once you replace them press [ON/C].

Hope it helps.

Make sure you are set to degrees, radians, or grads, whichever angular measurement you are using.

The DRG key toggles through the three modes of input, and the display shows which you are in.

30 SIN will give the correct 0.5 answer if you are set to use DEG.

Set to RAD and since 30 degrees = (30)(pi)/180= 0.52234 rad, set to RAD and 0.52234 SIN also gives you the correct 0.5 result

If you press the setup key then 1 under FSE it will say TAB (0-9)? enter the amount of decimal places you want and it will change that for you.
