Install onto windows vista

Your having problem with Silent Hunter 3 on you windows Vista, It is because Silent Hunter 3 is not compatible with windows Vista. Maybe the game may work if you play it with XP compatibility. Heres how to do that.
  1. Locate the shortcut icon of Silent Hunter in your Desktop.
  2. Once you locate the icon, right click on it and click on Customize to show the Customize Menu.
  3. On the Customize Menu, Select Play and then click on Edit. ( This process will show you the Properties Screen)
  4. On the Properties Screen, you will find the Compatibility Tab, Click on it.
  5. find the sentence that says " run in compatibility mode for: ", you will see a drop-down list underneath it. It contains all the OS that can be compatible with your game.
  6. Browse the drop-down and select Windows XP.
  7. Click Apply and OK then close the Customize Menu.
  8. Now your game will try to run in XP compatiblity mode.
  9. Your done. Run the game now.
If the solution above doesn't work and you really want to play the game. I suggest you change your operating system in which the game is supported.

Goodluck , Hope that this solution will help. Please give some feedback regarding my solution thanks.
Thank you for using Fixya!Have a great day!

DOOM won't run in Vista ...what can I do also Duke, Hexen, etc.

Are you certain your DOOM game is compatible with your Vista Operating System? Vista comes in 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Software compatibility depends on the game being designed for the specific OS you have. If you're running 64 bit Vista, I'm guessing your game is designed for Windows XP or 32 bit Vista.

Game won't work on my windows vista computer? i start the autoplay for the game and it flashes on and goes back off again

I have two suggestions to try. First, go to the shortcut or .exe for the game, right click on it and go to properties. Click on the compatibility tab and check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and Windows XP should already be selected. If this doesn't work, also in compatibility there is "Run program as administrator". Only do this with programs you trust, but I don't see a reason not to trust this game. If this also does not work, if you are running 64 bit vista, it is likely the game will not run at all. This has to do with it being a 64 bit operating system and not a 32 bit operating system, not if it was vista or XP. I hope this gave you the answer you were looking for.

Will this game run on Vista? I have vista and the game is playable and everything, but the text is all screwed up and the menus are unusable because everything is black, so you can't see what options are...

Try running the game in compatability mode. Right click the game icon and go to properties. Click the compatability tab and check the "Run in compatability mode" box. Select the recommended operating system.

Compatibility

It should work in vista but if might not as well. What you can do is right click on the icon and choose run as administrator if it does not work the first time you try it. With vista, make sure you download Service Pack 1 through windows update for incrased compatability with programs.

Hope this helps, I could not find the Operating system requirements for the game so it probably does work with vista.

windows vista is incompatible for most of the programs and games. You would have to buy a vista-compatible version of the game.
