Question about HP LaserJet 4200dtn Printer

I have a laserjet 4200dtn with a new cartridge installed. There are no message errors when i print, however it prints the first couple of inches very light and the about one inch from the bottom it compresses the lines so they are thick and distorted. I have tried to remove the cartridge and give it a good shake.

    Thank you for your reply. The machine is new to me but is second hand. I will speak with the guys who supplied the toner cartridge.

Hi is this fault new (the machine was working fine until you put the new toner in?
if yes it was fine then It must me the new toner send it back and get a replacement
I repair this model and I dint recall ever coming across this fault.

hi,
10.00X is the error code displayed when
  • Cartridge is not installed correctly
  • Use of refilled cartridges
in your case x is 0 which means that black color cartridge had a problem
problem may persist in slot holding black cartridge and /or in the cartridge

just do steps below

solution 1: check all cartridges are in right slot it is better to remove and fix it again

solution 2:
clean the surface of metal contacts with lint-free cloth

solution 3: Insert the problem print cartridge into a different slot
Follow these steps to determine if the print cartridge or the slot it sits in is causing the error.
  1. Open the print cartridge door completely.
  2. Press the blue handle on the print cartridge drawer to release it, and then pull the drawer out completely.
  3. Remove one of the non problem print cartridges from its slot.
  4. Install the problem print cartridge into the empty slot.
  5. Install the other print cartridge into the slot of the problem print cartridge.
  6. Close the print cartridge drawer completely.
  7. Close the front access door completely.
  • If the error message persists , replace the problem cartridge with new one(problem is in cartridge)
  • If the error message is gone , contact HP to troubleshoot a faulty slot.

Right hand printer cartridge light is flashing - have taken it out and reinserted it, no luck, so put a new one in, still no luck. Only way I can get it to work is to take the right hand cartridge out and...

10.00.00 supply memory error


The 10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR is based on the e-label. To clear the error, do the following:
NOTE: If the error occurs, it should appear at beginning of life, causing the error message after first installing the cartridge.
Turn the printer off and on to clear the message.
Put in the old catridge and see what happens.
If OK put in the new one again.
Verify that the print cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge.
Check that the E-label reader is functioning correctly.
Check that there is contact between the E-label chip on the print cartridge and the E-label reader on the printer.
To verify this contact, insert a new print cartridge.
Remove it again.
Check for scratches on the e-label chip and on the cartridge.
If contact is being made, replace the print cartridge (part number: Q2610A).
If contact is not being made, check the toner guides to see if they are in the proper position, or that the cartridge is not damaged.
If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.
Turn the printer on again.
If the error does not clear, turn the printer off and remove tray 3.
Turn the printer on and verify if the error clears.
HP has recently discovered that a 10.00.00 Supplies Memory Error can occur when Tray 3 is faulty.

This error implies the print cartridge is not installed correctly.
The steps to resolve the issue: 1.Reinstall print cartridge. 2. Power cycle all-in-one. 3. If the problem is not solved, replace the cartridge.

HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer - Installing Print Cartridges When a print cartridge approaches the end of useful life, the control panel displays a message recommending that to order a replacement. The printer can continue to print using the current print cartridge until the control panel displays a message instructing to replace the cartridge. The printer uses four colors and has a different print cartridge for each color: black (K), cyan (C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y). Replace a print cartridge when the printer control panel displays one of the following messages: Replace yellow cartridge, Replace magenta cartridge, Replace cyan cartridge, Replace black cartridge. The control panel display also indicates the color that should be replaced (unless a genuine HP cartridge is not currently installed). Change the print cartridge
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the front door. c00315320.gif CAUTION: Do not place anything on the transfer belt (ETB), which is located on the inside of the front door.

Installed new toner. Printer prints well, except approx 1 inch of vertical line doesn't print about 1/2 inch from right margin. Have gently shaken cartridge, run a cleaning paper, reiserted cartridge.


Assuming none of your print area margin settings have been changed, it sounds like you may have a defective drum. You can try carefully cleaning the corona wire, a hair thin wire, with a dry cotton swab. Do not touch the drum! The drum is an integral part of the toner cartridge. Return it to the store as defective.

Memory error


Just do 2 steps:

1. Press Stop.
2. If the display highlight "Resume". Press the OK (Check Button).

The display will tell you that a Non-HP Cartridge is installed and Economode is Disabled.
At least, you can now print. The display will show back again to "Ready".
