If your using the hot shoe with an external flash, three things could've happened: battery power in your camera is too low to fire the flash; or check the menu/settings/flash - ext flash settings may not have been chosen by the camera, but you may need to set it first manually; or your hot shoe is not a hot one, but your flash needs to be plugged into a PC outlet on the side of your camera. One last thing - test fire your flash and make sure it works to rule out the camera. There have been occasions where the ready light works on the flash, but it won't fire even after being plugged in. This problem was found to be a loose soldered wire in the flash foot. Another time it wound up to be the flashtube. Hope this helps.

My computer is not showing when my camera is plugged in

Make sure the camera is turned on, plug the USB cable into your PC first, then into the camera, wait for a beep from your PC to show it has recognized the hookup, then go to "My Computer" and look for the Fuji icon. Don't unplug the camera anytime the lights are flashing on it.

Camera Ready and Flash

I'f your using alkaline AAs, try using rechargeable NiMH batteries or lithium disposables. Alkalines are very poor at supplying the kind of current needed to recharge the flash. I've found other Samsung cameras to be particularly fussy about batteries, and not always consistently so! Good luck.

Red light continually flashes, and won't take picture

I have seen this problem on the ex-s880 casio camera a few times sometimes you can go into the setup menu and reset the camera to default and that some times fixes it. it that does not work I have had to replace the flash circuit on the camera because the large compasitor is out and needs tobe replaces most likely this is your problem because of the flashing LED. Hope this helps its a great camera also you might want to check with casio because this should be covered under warrenty. If the camera was not dropped.

Red light continually flashes, and won't take picture

Set the camera to anything except no flash. Turn it off. Take out the battery. Wait 5-10 seconds. Put the battery back in. The flash should now work until you turn the camera off again (and then you must remove/replace the battery to get the flash working again).

The flash requires some kind of "master reset" to work. Haven't found a permanent solution to this.

Camera not operating - cannot take picture

alkaline batteries?
please try lithium crv3 or lithium aa's, it may really do that even with a new set of alkaline aa's
if you're using ni-mh, make sure it's recharged and if it is, and it's still doing the same thing.. note that most ni-mh's life span is 300 charging cycles. if you barely use the rechargeable batteries, they can still deteriorate through time. if the rechargeable batteries are new, or say 6 month's old - that means the cam actually needs a repair

perhaps you have a faulty card. Try another card and see what happens. If not then it may be the operating system which is at fault.
