You have to change the boot order at the bios settings. Just after the screen comes up, before windows start up press (repeatly) the F2 key (depending on the model, maybe F1 or del key) and go to the boot sequence. Here change the boot order as you wish.

Hold down the either F12, F2, or ESC key to get in your BIOS, then find boot sequence in the list of options, and follow your pc's instructions from there.

Winfast boot sequence problem

Boot sequence problem? You set the boot sequence permanently in the Bios or System Setup. Normally when you boot the system the screen will tell you what key to hit to get into the Bios or Systems Setup.

You can set the boot sequence temporarily (just for the current boot cycle) by watching the screen when you boot and it will tell you which key to hit to change the boot sequence or boot order.

What can I do to fix this problem, my gr 500 is telling me to reboot and select proper device or insert boot media in selected boot device

You need to go into your Bios or System Setup and change the boot order or boot sequence. It sounds like you might be trying to boot from a Network or Lan. It could be that you are trying to boot from the CD drive but instead of having a operating system disc in the drive you might have a movie or music cd in the drive.

Reboot the computer and notice what key the screen says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup and hit that key. Change your boot order or boot sequence. The best sequence is to have the CD Drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. Changing this in the bios or system setup will make the change permanent. Just make sure when you boot the computer that nothing is in the CD drive unless you have a repair disc or operating system disc in it.

You could make a temporary change but then you will have to change it every time you boot. If you notice the screen when you boot it also gives you the key to hit to change the boot order or boot sequence. This will allow you to change it just for this time that you are booting.

I am unable to open bios. Actually I wanted to change the boot sequence for HARDDISK TO CDROM but could not open bios. What to do?

Hi ranjanaghosa,

I see that you need to change the Boot Sequence on you Thinkcentre M55e but could not get in BIOS right.

to be able to change Boot sequence you can also try on tapping f12 as soon as you power the machine ON untill you get the Boot Menu you can also change boot sequence from there.

To get in the BIOS on a desktop you need to keep on tapping F1 as soon as you power the computer ON, but if still this does not work you can try Tapping on the Delete key to get in the BIOS, getting in the BIOS depends on the motherboard some use f1 to get in the BIOS some use Delete to get in the BIOS on desktops.

but using the F12 key can be done as well if the F1 or Delete key does not work.

I hope that this helps.

Have a nica day,

I have a systemax desktop that runs XP. I installed a Seagate 2T external hard drive to store pics, files, etc. When I turn on the systemax, it attempts to boot from the external hard drive and will not...

Pressing f10 during system restart will gain you access to the bios. Using the arrow keys scroll to the boot sequence and hit enter. this should allow you to choose from , and select a primary boot order sequence. Follow the on screen instructions to make the changes. Then hit esc button. be sure to save and exit setup.
