You can download the PCI and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on thislink to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
hi, when you see the yellow of PCI devices this means you have to check all the cards that connect to your board as PCI, so this could be sound card, vedio card, modem or any pci card, just double check with your pci cards, so if you have pci sound or vedio see if the driver there if not will be one of them, But many times people doesnot recognize that they have extra pci card which could be for usb use, or output devices, etc...
Go to www.support.dell.com and select "I'm looking for drivers and downloads". If you don't have the proper version of Adobe you will be prompted to install it. Once installed return to "drivers and downloads" and enter the "service tag",(serial number) of the 820 laptop. Dell keeps a listing of drivers for every customer's computer they sell. The PCI device, simple communications controller is your dial-up modem card.
