Yamaha apparently had some problems with these displays according to the forums... If you are out of warranty then the repair will likely be at your expense. If in warranty, go on record immediately. Replacing the display is not really DIY unless you are electronically competent... I don't know what the cost for the display is, however you can call Yamaha America in CA and ask for "parts" and tell them what you need and ask the price. I can tell you there are a LOT of screws to remove to access the display and cables that must be cared for.

I ordered the display from Yamaha America. Cost $169.00 plus tax. Gonna try it myself as I have no choice. Local Yamaha repair estimated $250.00 to replace the diplay. I only paid $300 for the unit used, still it's too nice to trash. $169.00 for the display was painful enough. The repair manual makes the repair look relatively simple.

Korg ax3000 g display not working

It is likely something internal. The LCD is backlit so there is a chance it may be something on the order of a bad connection at the power supply input. Possibly a broken wire- as long as unit was not dropped, using a multi meter to check power is a pretty straight forward way to proceed.

If it got wet, there is possibly a burned out pico fuse, or corrosion on a connector or contact area for the rubber conductors for the display.

If unit was dropped- You may want to contact Korg to see if the display board is available. It likely is not. Which means it is a time and or money investment.

Psr-s500; no display at all but everything else is working properly.

Read your manual about a contrast control for the display. At one end of the range of control the display is almost invisible. Sometimes there is a little shaft/knob on the back, other times it is a menu item and yes, it is hard to see the display to adjust the display... just go through the procedure blindly to see if it comes back. Also illuminate the display if dark with a flashlight and see if there are display characters there but just lacking a backlight. A backlight failure could be the problem.

PA800 - Screen is blank

You want to ADJUST the display "contrast" which is described BRIEFLY on page 15 of your user manual under

PRESS and hold the MENU button and turn the DIAL to set the contrast...

Hopefully your display is just set at max brightness and you can adjust it.

Hi theres nothing showing up on the blue screen

If sound is going through this, then the display is the only problem. Some of these use a gas-discharge display and when cold or haven't been used for a while, they don't start right away.

If this might be the problem you can try helping the display ionize by shining a bright, perferably Halogen light into the window of the display. Let unit warm up and set awhileto see if display will come on.

My Fostex MR-8HD recorder's LCD display won't show me anything when I turn on the recorder. Everything else power's on and works properly. I can even hear it it working. I can't see the LCD display...

Check if the display has a contrast control. When these get turned down, the display is blank. Sometimes they are a littel shaft coming out of the case, other times it is a setting in a menu... how they expect you to see the display to set it in these cases is beyond me...

The procedure at this link shows you a battery replacement procedure that should work for you: You will need to design new user patches if you didn't back them up.

In the navigator display in the upper right corner of the face, after holding the tap switch or the tap footswitch for over two seconds the display will indicate your tuning. Strike an open string and the left end of the display will show you the note. Then there will be left and right arrows on the screen until you adjust your tuning for that note. When in tune for that note, two asterisks will be displayed in the center of that display.

Read your manual on the page with the "Smart FX" at the start.

Blank display no functions power ok

Not sure what you mean by "power OK",

If you have checked that the logic circuits are getting a clean 5 volts DC THEN the power is OK. This requires an oscilloscope AND a voltmeter.

USUALLY when a display shows characters like that it means the processor hasn't initialized the display. Most common problem is too low power supply that doesn't permit the processor to come out of reset.

Bad filter caps can cause the 5 volts to dip below 4.6 volts which would be minimum to operate. A voltmeter might still register near 5 volts but a scope will show the voltage dips.
