Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

DNS lookup failure

Contact the cable company or ISP and tell them the DNS server setting is expiring too often on your automatic modem configuration settings provided by the Internet service provider..

DNS failed on Samsung Tocco Lite! HELP PLEASE!

You will need to get the internet connection settings from your service provider. Contact your mobile service provider and download the settings. Also some service providers require you to activate some kind of internet packs before browsing. Check if this is the case with your SP too.

How do i get my dns numbers from my isp provider, and what is a isp provider.

Best bet is to open up your browser and type in www.whatismyip.com
this will give you your ip address from your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)
If You need some DNS numbers (Domain Name Server), I use open DNS. they are pretty good at keeping out dodgy or rogue sites. Web sites have actual numbers for their address, not names. When you type in www.anynamehere.com, the computer goes to the DNS server to look up the name and get the number (IP address) just like looking up a phone book.
If you choose to use Open DNS as the look up server. use these numbers in your settings.
DNS1 208.67.222.222
DNS2 208.67.220.220
If you need to put in a gateway (like a front door to go out to the net) you will need to go into your router or modem settings to find this number, Or just call your ISP to get the information. You will need your email username & password before you ring
Good Luck

a DNS server stands for domain name service. The DNS server translatesnames from IP addresses. The internet sees IP addresses such as 209.235.250.53 but the DNS server provided by your ISP translates it for you into fixya.com. You should be able to aquire the DNS server information from your internet provider (ISP) hope this helps.

Dns servers

DNS servers are the Domain Name Servers which convert the web addresses to the IP addresses. They are specific to your Internet Service Providers or ISP. You need to contact them to find out the primary and secondary DNS servers.

DNS

DNS is the primary name resolution service for Windows Server 2003. Active Directory depends on DNS for domain controller location, and DNS influences Active Directory domain naming. Thus, to fully understand Active Directory, it helps to understand how DNS acts as an integral component in the design of Active Directory.

DNS provides Active Directory with both a name resolution service for domain controller location and a hierarchical design that Active Directory leverages to provide a naming convention that can reflect organizational structure.
Typically, a DNS domain namespace deployed to accommodate the Active Directory mirrors the Active Directory domain namespace. In cases where there is an existing DNS namespace prior to Active Directory deployment, the DNS namespace is typically partitioned for Active Directory, and a DNS subdomain and delegation for the Active Directory forest root is created. Additional DNS domain names are then added for each Active Directory child domain.
DNS data is used to support the location of Active Directory domain controllers also. During or after the creation of the DNS zones used to support Active Directory domains, the zones are populated with DNS resource records that enable network hosts and services to locate Active Directory domain controllers.

First providing the entire text of the message in a comment here would provide useful information to resolve the error.

Second a short discussion of DNS. DNS from your perspectiveis generally several servers assigned by your ISP to provide the data to convert names such as www.FixYa.com to numeric IP addresses to send messages. Generally in a home network these DNS addresses get configured into the adapter automatically from the router using DHCP or manually by the user.

If your web browser can access sites by name such as www.fixya.com despite the DNS message you indicated then your DNS servers are probably properly configured and there is another DNS issue.

If you wish to check further
click on start than all programs then accessories then command prompt
in the window that opens enter the following command

ipconfig /all

There may be multiple adapters shown but one should have all of the following as non 0.0.0.0 addresses
IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and one or more DNS addresses. The DNS addresses present should normally match those provided by your ISP.

IF you have any questions, can supply the full error message or believe any of the above is an issue please add a comment to this problem and I will provide any additional input I can based on your observations.

Dns problems

The DNS addresses are generally provided by your internet service provider (ISP) for your use. Can you identify your internet service providers web site link or his name and possibly your location in terms of city and state? WIth that information I should be able to access his support site and find the DNS addresses for you.
