Surepower 430w power supply - fried my motherboard need help

On Feb. 23, 2007 I purchased your 430W power supply. Last night, however, I turned on my computer and it tried to boot for about 1/2 a second and then shut down. The led on the motherboard was lit but nothing else was happening. I took it into Circuit City to be tested and they said that the 5V rail had an output of 6-1/2V. It may have damaged my motherboard but withoput a new power supply, I'll never know. Since there is a 5yr warranty on this power supply, will you replace it?

Power supply went bad (6.5v on the 5v rail) and fried my motherboard. I read where Mad Dog, Inc was terrible at returns and replacements and the BBB rated them as one of the worst. I threw up my hands and just ordered a new one from a different Mfg.

Thermaltake TrR2-430W power supply won't power on

Try to unplug it from the motherboard and put a wire between black and green wire and see if the fan turn on
if it won't turn on unplug all and open your PSU to see if the fuse isn't burned (ONLY IF THERE AREN'T WARRANTY)

I have an Antec Truepower 2.0 TPII-430. This power supply provides power to the fans but when I push the computer power-up button, nothing happens. I installed another similar power supply and everything...

Test it. Unplug the molex connector from the mothrboard. You can use a wire or a paper clip to test it to power on. You will connect (short) pin 14 to and ground pin. (diagram here) For example, put one end of the paper clip into pin 14, and the other end into 13, 15, or 16. If the power supply turns on and fan running then maybe a problem with the front panel switch on the computer case.
P.S. make sure you unplug all other leads to drives before doing this.

It is best you replace this power supply.

How to check if my power supply is already not ''at the limit''?

1 or 2 extra hdds and ram does not require much extra power and your coolmaster should do the job. But if you intend to use a newer graphic card you should check the requirenments for wattage at your new card manufacturer product specification webpage. I am pretty sure that almost all newer graphic cards require at least 500 watt to run without problem. My advise is to buy at least a 550 watt psu although i don't know what is your hardware. Try to post your hardware specs and calculate for each component (cpu wattage+graphics wattage +etc) your power supply need to be over 50 wattage. Hope that helped!
