Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Suddenly yesterday I started receiving multi copies of each incoming email. When I attempted to delete more came in and I had pop up on the screen "Microsoft Outlook is not working" Close Microsoft or allow Microsoft to scan the internet for possible faults. The little box on the lower left came back with a list of ?problems of which I understand nothing. It means nothing to me at all. What other way can I get Microsoft outlook to work properly again? Thank you, pc challenged Mrs Meryl Duffield

I have recently experienced this as well i deleted my account associated with ms outlook and then re-installed the account on there that fixed the problem. basically copy your user settings including your server settings then delete it all . reboot computer and add your account back.

Incoming emails are not appearing in the inbox folder of Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Could be your Outlook profile got corrupted somehow. If you use your account settings on another PC w/Outlook does the trouble follow? Or is it strictly w/your PC? Obviously, other profiles are working fine (your partner's). One solution might be to backup your .pst file to the C: drive or a USB drive, completely delete your old profile, and build a new one. Once your confirm that email is working properly, then attempt to reload your old .pst file to get all your old email back.

Something else you could try is to open Outlook in Safe Mode. This will run Outlook with minimal addons in order to eliminate the possibility that some sort of addon is the culprit.

You can use one of these methods to start Outlook using a command line switch:
Hold Ctrl key as you click the Outlook shortcut.
If you use Vista or Windows 7, type outlook.exe /safe in the Start Search field on the Start menu then press Enter.

How do I set up another Gmail account. I don't want to delete my other. I just want another domain email.

Sign out of your gmail account. Create a new account.

To receive emails from the second account
Next, in order to see emails sent from your secondary to your primary account, you should set up forwarding. Keep in mind that you can also forward emails from your primary to your secondary account should you want all messages from both emails in both inboxes. To set up forwarding:

1. Click the gear in the top right.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
4. Click Add a forwarding address in the "Forwarding" section.
5. Enter the primary email address
6. For your security, we'll send a verification to that email address.
7. Open your primary email account (signing out of the secondary account), and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team.
8. Click the verification link in that email.
9. Back in your secondary account, refresh the page.
10. Select the Forward a copy of incoming mail to option and make sure your new forwarding address is listed in the first drop-down menu.
11. In the second drop-down menu, choose what you want Gmail to do with your messages in that secondary account, such as keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox or archive Gmail's copy.
12. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

How to change settings in Outlook to delete message from server after downloading

Hi, follow the steps below. Don't change any of your settings since they already work, but when you get to step 7 this is where you check whether or not you want to remove the emails from the sever.

Open Outlook 2003 then:
  1. Click Tools ' E-mail Accounts.
  2. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
  3. Select POP3, then click Next.
  4. Enter the following information:
    • User Information
      • Your Name: Type your name as you'd like it to appear when you send an email message.
      • E-mail Address: Type your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (for example, jo.bloggs@yahoo.com).
    • Server Information
      • Incoming mail server (POP3): Type pop.mail.yahoo.com
      • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • Login Information
      • User Name: Type your Yahoo! ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
      • Password: Type your Yahoo! password.
    • Check the Remember password checkbox if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
    • Do notcheck the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
  5. Click the More Settings button. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  6. Select the Outgoing Server tab:
    • Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
    • Make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  7. Select the Advanced tab:
    • Under "Incoming server (POP3)," check the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox. The number in the "Incoming server (POP3)" field usually changes automatically from 110 to 995. If it doesn't, type 995.
    • In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field, type 465. Under it, check the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox.
    • If you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your computer, check the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! server once Outlook has downloaded them onto your computer, leave the box unchecked.
Note: After your messages are deleted from the server, we cannot retrieve them.
  8. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  9. Click Next and then Finish.
  10. Close and restart your Microsoft Outlook.

I am not able to send or receive any mail on my yahoo account.

How do you access your Yahoo mail? Is it via the browser (www.yahoo.com) or via MS Outlook?

If you're having a problem of sending/receiving emails while using the web browser, you may want to delete old and unnecessary emails. You could have reached the storage limit of your email account.

But if your using an Outlook, you need to double-check the account settings. Make sure that you have the correct user name, password, incoming and outgoing servers, incoming and outgoing ports.

If you setup your email account using the POP protocol, you may use these server ports:

Incoming: 110 or 995
Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)

For IMAP:

Incoming: 143 or 993
Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)

If the same problem occur, you may try to delete your account and recreate it. Please bear in mind that if you deleted your account and recreated it, some emails may no longer appear or get downloaded.

Thank you and good luck!

setup yahoo mail on any email client for eg ms outlook or outllok express
Yahoo! Mail Settings
Yahoo Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:
    Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)
POP Yahoo! Mail Plus email server settings
Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)
Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)

Receive duplicate emails and error messages: pop

Look for your Security Email Firewall settings (Mcafee, Norton , etc ). Got to Email protection > Disable Incoming \ Outgoing mail protection. That should do it.

All my incoming mails have been delited, the incoming mail box was suddenly empty; this happens while I was just doing new mailings yesterday (Monday) in my Manila Computer

They may have been deleted from your PC, BUT they will most likely still be ON the Email Server. You need to go to the Web page of your email provider, and access it via the WEB NOT via Outlook or the like. Simply navigate to your Email server, and then enter your usual name and password, and login, now you should see your emails now that the panic is gone... you can get around to fixing your problem with you email handler and the PC. To get to the server you would type in say, www.gmail.com, or www.hotmail.com, www.yahoo.com and find the email interface, all email servers have a web based access.
