Try replacing your power supply unit... computer restart is sometimes caused by low voltage output from a faulty power supply.

hope this post helps.

My desktop PC with Intel DH61WW mother board, Intel i 3 processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 OS Intel HD Graphic S/W has auto restart problem while shutdown is attempted. The UPS power is to be switched...

Disconnect all peripherals, except keyboard, mouse and monitor. Try to start the machine in safe mode and if it comes up okay, then try to restart it into normal windows. If the problem continues, remove all but one stick of ram, and try again. if it happens again, change out the stick of ram with one of the other ones. IF this fails, and the problem still exists, try to boot from a usb drive. If it boots normally then you may have a problem in windows, and that may need a re-install.

Keeps telling me no signal

The motherboard is not telling you there is no signal, the monitor is..
In this order:

  1. Test the connection from graphics card to monitor, try a different monitor to eliminate this from the issues.
  2. If other monitor works, the old one is causing the problems
  3. If new monitor does not work:
  • Check the graphics card is seated properly, if possible, test with another graphics card, if this works, the issue is with the graphics card
  • If this does not work, check the fan on the cpu, is it spinning? If not, make sure the fan is connected to the motherboard
  • If the fan is spinning, remove all the ram, reboot, you should get a series of beeps, make note of these and repost them (computer will not boot)
  • If you get NO beeps with ram removed, the CPU or motherboard are possibly dead, if possible, replace CPU with known working one and retest with and without ram in, make sure you have thermal grease on the CPU>heatsink. Replace the Ram (or one module)
  • If you get a single beep and the motherboard powers the monitor, the CPU was your issue
  • If you get no beeps, confirmed death of motherboard.
Possible other solutions: Remove CMOS battery, leave for 1 minute and then replace, see if it boots
Check the power switch from the computer front panel is not sticking

HP Compaq f700 Laptop keeps on restarting without any display. No problem with HD and RAM. Problem reoccured even after replacing display chip. Please help.

try removing battery and small watch battery and disconnect power for 10 min then replace and restart. If it comes back on it will do it again when you turn it off, so don't, lol. I have this problem and everyone says these have motherboard problems. From what I can see they don't remember bios on startup. I'm still searching, Hope this helps.

The Motherboard is going bad if it restarts on it's own. I suggest you try a different board.

NO DISPLAY

Hi m_o_redz,
If you are using the on-board (integrated video), S3 Graphics Chrome9 HC Integrated Graphics core. Than check you're video cable, video cable connection. Try another monitor. If all check out ok than the MSI integrated video is defective. Suggest you install a PCI-E video card.
If you are using a PCI-E card, try removing it. Clean the copper contacts using a cotton swab & alcohol. (Let it dry) Than reseat the PCI-E card.
Try booting again.

Good Luck!

Mike
