Hi There I want to use my ipod Nano Radio while the ipod is in its docking station and play the music through the dock speakers but the radio wont work without the ear buds plugged in for reception. What...

The ear buds are not only the headphones but are also the antenna for the radio.
This one issue that has to be addressed by the dock manufacturer. You will have to tamper around with the Nano to modify it to work with out a ear buds by letting a wire permanently hang out from the device - which I think would look ugly !!!

The earphone jack connection produces sound in only one ear. Partially with drawing the jack produces sound in both ears. Clearly, the jack is not making a good connection once inside its 'port'.

Hi,
This is usually the result of faulty earphones. Try replacing the earphones you are using with the ipod and it should work normally.
Good Luck!

Volume control does not change the volume when using earphones

Most often, the ear phone might be the problem.try getting a new ear phone preferable, one from another manufacturer,if it does the same way, the problem will be from the earphone port.

The volume control on my new iPod Nano isn't working

The iPod Nano has the ability to "lock" the volume of music played at a particular level. Perhaps this only affects the volume of the earphones (versus the internal speaker). Please see "Setting The Maximum Volume Limit" in the user's manual:

My Ipod Nano only has sound in one ear. when you turn the headphone jack in the socket it picks up the other sounds ear for a second then disappears. I've tried different using headphones and the samething...

Within the jack, there is a very delicate balance. The same thing happened to the auxiliary jack in my car. Since it is broken, you'll need to either see if you're eligible for an Apple warranty replacement or repair, see if a local electronics place can fix it at a decent price, or spring for a replacement.

Volume problems

If you're willing to take a risk.... theres rockbox.org download/install that. It will pump an extra 25% or more volume out.... But the layout is different and takes some getting used to...

also you can buy some better headphones... the kind that cover the whole ear and not those little ear bud things!
