Are you running a Microsoft windows OS? If so in win 7 and XP point mouse to blue circle icon w/ flag on lower left side of screen, left click once move curser to all programs, scroll to accessories then find folder labeled System Tools, left click once scroll to System Restore left click once choose the day you would like to restore system too. You could go back a couple weeks if you wanted too.

Diskboot failure insert system disk

What was the problem in the first place? Why are you trying to restore the computer?

Or reading wrong; do you mean the computer will not start? Boot?

Primer:
Disk Boot. -> The bootstrap files on the harddrive.
Bootstrap <- Make it easier to understand?

The basic Windows files.

Can't access restoration on the harddrive with F11? Quite common.
I mean, how crazy is that? Let's put the restoration files, (Basic Windows files), on the harddrive? So if the harddrive goes bad?????

Suggest you use the Restoration Disk.

{Pre-built computer manufacturers were packing the Restoration Disk/s with the computer. As time went by the manufacturers saw the users were not using the disk/s, or loosing them.

Didn't want to use, because of fearing computer damage if they error, or didn't even want to try.

Okay. Put the restoration files on the harddrive, then.
Have the new owner make a BACKUP, when the owner turns the computer on for the first time.
Save a few cents without providing the disk for each computer.
(Take a few cents times 50,000 computers, or more)

Hardly anyone makes a backup disk, when the computer is turned on for the first time. If the harddrive goes bad you cannot access the restoration files.

Computer manufacturers have gone back to packing the restoration disk, with the computer }

What?
Don't have the Restoration Disk? (I won't say anything about not making a backup disk. Could be failure time with it, also)

Go to the back of the computer tower, or up on the side. Write down the Serial Number. It's in the white Service Tag. S/N = Serial Number
(NO, do not post it on the internet. Only to an authorized HP representative)

Call HP Support.
In the USA call 1-800-474-6836
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Restoration Disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.
$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship. $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.

For other countries use HP Worldwide Support,

http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/support.html

Do I think the Restoration Disk will repair the problem?
Dunno. Don't know what the original problem was. You haven't stated it yet.

Post back in a Comment.

My computer says no audio output device is installed but it was working fine few days back.. please help me..

You made an improper software installation? Try to restore your computer to the day was working with the windows System restore. I hope that you have it active. If not try to restart the computer to the last known good configuration by pressing F8 when it's bootin up. If those two won't work, reinstall the driver for the sound card.

How do you restore back to factory settings for an 2930Z

Few options.

A) Restore Point - Sometimes you can do a simple System Restore. click start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore then click back on the calender to the very first restore point for me its the first day of my reformat (done it a few times) so anytime i have a really bad problem and i don't have any backup i go back to this restore point.

B) repair - insert your Operating system cd (windows xp, Vista, etc) and restart or turn on the computer. your cd should automaticly start up first. click the repair function and follow directions.

C) reformat - same as above except you pick install windows.... and follow directions. this is worst case senario if you don't care to lose EVERYTHING.

remember as soon as you open the box and turn computer on make a restore point. BACK UP at least once month EVERYTHING that is important. also a full system back up is awsome if you need to do this agin.

When trying to back date my computer through system restore, it will only let me go back 4 days. I want to go back 2 weeks. what's happening ?

Hai,

This happens when the restore point was successfull created or it could be a problem with missing files in restore point, however you can restore the computer upto 14 days back, it could not restore if you trying to restore more that 14 days.

It's purely corruption of the restore point files, however let us try to restore the computer using safe mode options.
Restart the computer and keepon tapping F8 key and you will see advanced boot options, please select safe mode and press enter, from safe mode try to restore you computer.

This should fix the issue.

My explorer.exe suddenly malfuntion. my deskstop is empty

a virus may have done sum damage to your pc as the drivers are the guts of the pc, try restoring ur computer to a earlier date as this will take you back a few days ,weeks, or months so u can have all ur drivers back, this will erase any data that wasnt put there unless it was saved on a restore day so back up any files you need to make sure you still have them, then go to system tools and you should see system restore and use it to go back to a earlier date.

How do you restore the computer back to like when you bought it?

that would depend on the operating system that you have on the computer.. if u hav a windows xp operating system.. you need to run the system restore on your computer back to the date where you got it or not exactly on the date you got, probably a few days after you got it.. computer have save points.. your going to use the save points to restore your computer.. take note, new installed software or new items saved on the computer may be removed or deleted on the system.. the computer will go back to the old setting that it saved on that save point..

you can access system restore on this path
start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore

Restore backup files

You should have everything saved ("backed up") on dvds now. Your next step is to pop in the restore discs that came with the computer unless you have a vista machine that isn't a toshiba or dell because vista machines (like HP) makes you create your own.

pop in your disc, boot to cd, and press next a few times... it will delete everything and get the pc back to the first day you bought it.
