Question about Dishwashers

2 Answers

Hi silverdragon, re the dishlex 302 not heating or drying Have replaced heating element but unfortunately still cold. If the control panel has not shorted which it hadn't before, do you have any suggestions. My hubby would rather wait before buying a new dishwasher, but I don't want to throw good money after bad. Is there anyone you can suggest who would be able to check out the circuit board to see if i have missed anything.

    Hi again,

Where is the temperature thermostat located. Would it be obvious if it has blown out.

Hi

Check the two thermostats located at the inside bottom front panel of the dishwasher, if any one of them goes bad it won't heat. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hi, have a look at the thermostat temperature sensor too... the elements while they do burn out, it isn't too common for it to spontaneously fail, however the temp sensor, or "Other" sensor can cause symptoms as you describe... that's the whole problem right there see, so many faults have same or similar symptoms one really needs to examine the machine to tell.
The main board also is a major culprit, often power disturbances, outages, storms etc, can cause damage to the machine's electronics.
a piece of advice, it nearly always pays to call a professional, contact your manufacturers local or head office and ask for a referral to their authorised service centers, then request a serviceman call, to give you a "Quote" as to the repair, now when they call, simply ask for a "Quote" for the repair, if it seems acceptable, offset against a new unit verses the age of yours now, and you can then make an informed decision, that shouldn't cost you much to find out, or go on to a "Fix". Or look towards obtaining a replacement.
It may indeed be something simple?

Dishlex 302 water not heating

My son fixed this problem with our DX302 dishwasher only this morning. Now works fine and hot. Found the solution on this site posted 11 august 2008 from dishwasher dishlex dx302wb no hot water. There are photos to help you. Take out the circuit board in the top of door and resolder the points on left hand side of green board there are 2 long solders and a half moon. The problem is at the top of the 2 long solder lines. Do not replace your element. There is a fault with the circuit boards on this model 302. I want to thank all the posters for helping me fix my no hot water problem.

The dishlex 302SB is not producing hot water for the washing

I have a Dishlex 302 which had this fault. Initially I thought it was the inline heater element and replaced it. It seemed to work but later no hot water again. Someone here put me on to the problem. There is a dry joint in the control board in the top of the door. This controls the relay which powers up the heater. Unplug it from the mains (very important) and undo the screws around the top of the door (don't take the door right off!) you will be able to wiggle off the front panel containing the electronics. The control board is ealiy disconnected an removed from the machine in its protective plastic cover. Have a look around the PCB and you will see the dry joint. Resolder with rosin core (electronic) solder, reassemble and you should have hot water.

Dishlex dx 302 heat drying

Found I had no hot water in my Dishlex DX302 and did a google search and found this page.

My problem was found to be the same as the others; one of the solder joints on the relay on the control board had arced off.
You could see the burn mark on the board and cover where it had been arcing.

Soldered it back together, and now it seems to be going good again.
Now my only problem is a damaged door seal, which means a small water leak; I have used part of a rubber glove to bridge the gap, and it reduces the water leak.
