Did you un-install skype before downloading the newest? if not uninstall both skype and the webcam drivers. then install skype first if you have win 7 or vista just plug in your webcam and it should find basic drivers to work right off the bat, if not then download the drivers make sure you are downloading the right drivers if you have a 64 bit system and your downloading 32bit drivers that could be it to check go to computer system properties and it will tell you 32bit or 64bit visa win 7 only

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My webcam doesnt work with skype

Check you have the latest driver - faults likes this are usually patched until a new driver is issued
Access Device Manager from the Control Panel and expand the Imaging folder.
Right click on your webcam text and update driver - select internet when prompted.
If you have the latest driver - check the Creative website and Skype for any forums that show similar problems

Skype

update your skype to the latest version, direct x (Windows update) andvideo card drivers from your manufacturer (go to manufactureres site;they'll lead you through it)

start with your webcam off, Go toTools, options, video settings. Click on Enable Skype video and Startmy video when Skype turns on. Then select "default video device".

scan your computer and see if there's any virus on it
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

or check for trojan or malwares, or spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org/

see if your computer and os can satisfy the requirements of skype:
  • System requirements
  • PC running Windows 2000, XP or Vista. (Windows 2000 users require DirectX 9.0 for video calls).
  • Internet connection – broadband is best (GPRS is not supported for voice calls).
  • Speakers and microphone – built-in or separate.
  • For voice and video calls we recommend a computer with at least a 1GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and of course a webcam.
  • ForHigh Quality Video calls you will need a highquality video webcam andsoftware, a dual-core processor computer and afast broadbandconnection (384 kbps).
Technical details
Version 3.8.0.180 File size 21 MB. Official release. Release date: October 1, 2008.

Logitec quickcam problems

Seems not a problem of your camera as the image it records of you is transmitted clearly to the folks you call. Maybe those people should get the same camera you use.

Or it their/your internet connection upload/download speed

Or it is skype - i use skype, but some of my friends move to MSN as they say it supports better quality experience of video chats

Receivers video displey

I just experienced this too. If you recently installed the webcam as a new device, you'll need to reboot your machine. Once I did the reboot, the camera was interactive with Skype, but the video capture speed is somewhat slow, and motion blurs are common. Also make sure you have the latest version of Skype which is 3.6 - it has improved video call support.
