Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I am running windows 7 starter on my netbook. I have just installed the software for the Finepix A800 which has been accepted OK. When I connected my camera it appears to have loaded OK as well but the photos will not load. Everything was working on my XP system so I changed the software compatibility to XP service pack 2 but it still will not load the photos on the Windows 7 machine. How do I fix this so it will work on Windows 7.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Finepix for a800 does not start up when I connect camera when I clikc on the icon its saids it is busy

Loading the software is not enough. You should install it and also the drivers, provided on the disk.
But you have to do so, before connecting a camera to the computer.
If nothing helps, please try to remove the program and reinstall it again. Then connect the camera and switch the camera on.

I have windows ce and i need to upgrade it but what should i upgrade to /

Windows 7 starter is the fartest you want to take this. I would recommend windows xp 32bit o/s since your netbook can't expand beyond 1gb. With windows 7 starter, on the long run, it's going to lag because windows 7 starter is 1gb min requirement already and you have a low running processor. Windows Xp is where I would stay if I want to be safe.

How do I upload my pictures from camera to computer? My PC is not recognizing my camera when plugged in to the port. Am I perhaps missing a program?

Ok, yes you need to download and install the Fuli FinePix software from this link below.

Download and install this software then reboot, at desktop next, connect up camera,it should install the driver, then when done, reboot, this time at desktop, run the software and you will be able to copy and manipulate your camera.
Also when the drivers have been installed, you will see new "Drives" appear in My Computer, now as such, these drives can be used as a normal drive, copy/cut/paste from to anywhere so also you can use that to transfer files too.

How do i upload photos from a camera to a laptop

You can use the mini USB port to USB on the computer, or you can use a card reader connected to the USB port. Windows XP or Windows 7 will recognize either the camera or card as a device, and you can then download your pictures to a folder on your computer.

I don´t have anny kind of software for my fijifilm finepix a800

That would depend on the type of computer. On a Mac, iPhoto should be able to show your pictures. On Windows (XP and newer), Explorer should show your pictures.

You don't even need to connect your camera to your computer.
