Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer

1 Answer

II have a Frigidaire gallery series GLTF4920ES3 that is turning on and off by itself. It also is turning off and on during a washer cycle some times. When I do a diagnostic test everything works but an error code comes up saying E62. I can not find this in the manual (what is E 62). The only way I can get it out of sleep mode most of the time is to turn the power off and then back on. I think it might possibly be the control board? If it is can you give instruction on how to replace and part number?

Would this apply even when the washer was not working as I commented that the washer turns its self on and off again when it is dormant and not even in a cycle

Error code E62 (E5C) means the heatsink on the motor speed control is overheating and this is why the machine turns itself off. Replace the motor speed control board with part number 134743500.

Disconnect power then remove the screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

It still applies. You can verify this by disconnecting the motor speed control board. It is indeed faulty if the machine stops turning on and off during a cycling or dormancy.

To get a diagnostic code out of this take the screws off the lid. There should be a manual on this model. You have to hold start and cancel together with the machine off, but plugged in for 5 seconds on this model. If you had a long fill problem on this unit the machine clunks out and doesn't operate correctly. Refer to that tech sheet to see how to reset the error codes on the unit and try again. If your machine has 8888 display instead of just little led lights, the error codes are much easier to read and understand through the tech sheet. To put the unit into diagnostic mode, you have to set the dial all the way to the specified cycle setting and follow the instructions from there. It will throw only an error code if you hold Start and Cancel together.

Washer Knob broke

You can use the knob to turn the washer to the correct cycle, and then use a pair of long nose pliers to gently pull the center hub out to start the washer. This is of course only a work around. I'll post more if I figure out how to fix this as well.

I removed the hoses and pump and found the filter in the hose leading from the washer was clogged with a shoelace, $2.35 in loose change and a few GI Joe issued M4's. :-) Once I pulled that filter out and cleaned the **** the washer runs like a champ.

Our dishwasher is not running through all cylcles

Either:

1. the water does not get into the dishwasher open the dishwasher 3-4 times during cycle, you should see some water at least once, if not - check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.
3. motor in main pump is not working - could be caused by something stuck on the impeller or chopper or could be a problem with the motor itself or control board. Check if line voltage is coming to the motor during wash/rinse cycle.

Good luck,
