After a major repair, the radio on my 1998 Chevy Malibu is locked. I'm aware that there is a code to unlock the radio. However, the dealership will charge me about $45 to "unlock" it. My stock radio probably isn't even worth that much. Is there anyway I can get the code/directions to unlock it without having to pay? I just spent over $600 to have my heater core replaced and I want my music back! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look up the manufature of your stereo once you find that look and download the users manual for it. it should tell you how to unlock your stereo if you forgot your code. Or send me the specs and i will do it for you.

I wired a 2000 radio from a Malibu into my 1998 Malibu and it doesn't turn on but I get a blinking red light by the on off knob.

The theftlock system is most likely locking you out of the radio. you need the numbers off the radio the call into a gm dealership with those numbers and they can give you the procedure and sequence to unlock your radio

How to reset a radio on a chevy malibu 2004? radio is now locked.

If your battery was replaced and the radio lost power then your anti thieft lock was activated. Check your oweners manual under radio and check for a 4 number pass word. Sometimes it is taped to the upper part of the glove box. If yopu do not have the CODE you will need to take the vehicle to the dealership or a repair center and they can give the vin number to a dealership and get the CODE.

The radio for my 2007 chevy malibu is locked

if you hold the 1 and 4 presets and you get 3 lines like this - - - then that meens there is no code stored so the problem is not in your theftlock but the radio or power to it.
