I cannot figure out how to get the old cooling fan out of my computer in order to put a new one in. Is is glued in or screwed in? I didn't see any screws. The fan is getting really noisy and I have had a replacement on hand for years. Just now getting around to putting it in since the noise is getting more pronounced. thank you for your assistance

I understand that you are trying to replace the door striker on your Frigidaire washer, model# ATF6000ES. The door striker should only be held on with 2 screws. Take the 2 screws off and you should be able to replace the striker. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
I'm showing three fan relays in the wiring diagram. The fans are powered by two 30amp maxi fuses. The relays and fan motors are grounded thru the engine computer. The computer takes input from the coolant sensor and the ac control to decide when fans are needed. You would need to know if the computer is grounding the relays, and if not, why not. You may need a scanner to monitor computer output.
This sounds like the electric motor bushings are worn which will cause vibration throughout the unit. If it is relatively new I recommend checking the warranty information and returning it to the retailer for a replacement. If you have gotten your money out of it but cannot tolerate the noise, then a replacement is in order as well. The cost of replacing the motor and installing it will most likely exceed the cost of a new humidifer.
Is the area between your fridge and freezer smoking hot? Can you smell
the rubber seals melting? Does your fridge squeak like crazy? You have
an issue with your condenser fan. You can save about $50 by fixing the
fan motor yourself. I'm no engineer but this was an easy fix.
1) Unplug the fridge.
2) Take off the lower back panel covering the condenser and fan.
3) Unplug the fan (on the top left from the fan.
4) Slide the fan out of the bracket
5) Take the fan blade off. (This will take the most time and TLC, it is
glued on)
6) Take the two screws out of the back of the housing.
**The fan motor should be free of the housing and blade**
7) Remove the two screws from the fan motor housing.
8) Pull the shaft out of the motor and clean all parts with some oil and
a rag.
9) Make sure all moving parts are well oiled then put the shaft back in
the motor housing.
10) Replace the motor housing screws
11) Replace the motor into the fan housing and replace the screws.
12) Slide the fan blade back onto the shaft (I used some super glue to
help hold it in place)
13) Slide the fan housing back into place
14) Plug the fan into the socket
15) Plug in the fridge to make sure your fix worked (it may take a
minute to kick on)
16) Replace the lower cover
Could be a 2 or 3 Components, Cooling Fan Switch, or Cooling Fan Control.
Sometimes the Switches are not Bad ,but have Bad Wiring ,Not Connected good, Corrosion on the Switch Terminaltheres 2 on the Coolling Fan Switch. The Cooling Fan control Could also be not working because of Connection Bad or Corrosion.
They Both Work off the Engine Control Computer. They signal the Coolant Temperture to the Contoler and it Turns Fan on and Off.
I would personally Recomend you just Replace them since your vehicle is over 10 Years Old.
Should Find them around Radiator and Fan.You'll see the Wiring running to these .

you shouldn't remove the fan. your better off, removing the old proc from the heatsink and use new thermal paste on the new one when installing this heatsink back on. just be sure to clean the surface well before pasting it.
don't fear of useing a razor bade to pry the old proc off, it's not glued on. somtimes the old paste gets real tough to remove and sticks pretty good.
There are a few things that cause a normally silent fan to get noisy.
Dust building up - Unlikely, but check. Clean if necessary.
Some internal wiring brushing against the trailing edge of the fan blades - Likely only if the case was recently opened. Re-open and check, relocate the wiring if necessary.
The fan is getting ready to fail - Most likely. Replace the fan. If you have an unused computer, pull a fan out of that one to use. New fans are available for under $20.00 USD .
This replacement is very easy.
Four screws out
Unplug
Remove old fan, put new one in.
Plug in
Four screws in
Don't wait until it fails, though. A cool computer is a happy computer.
You need to Apply Thermal Paste to the top of the processor Chip..then place the heatsink/Fan assembly on top.. then screw the 4 screws down 3 turns at a time going from screw 1 to screw 2 to 3 then 4 and do again 3 turns.. repeat till all are tight..
The amount you use is: A thin layer.. (thickness of a dime)
Remove the little rubber feed on the bottom of the base (they might be glued a bit so be careful not to rip them). This will reveal 4 phillips head screws...remove them...this will open the base and reveal the back site of the rotor. In the middle you will see a turban blade like wheel with a large flat tip screw. Wedge a large screwdriver between the teeth of the old clutch so that when you turn the flat tip screw it will stop rotating the other end. Turn the screw with some force to the right to losen the clutch...then do the reverse to get the new one on tight...put everything back together and there you have it.
Keep in mind that this might void your warrenty if you still have some on it.
