Question about Nikon Coolpix S3000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My coolpix s3000 flashes and makes the sound for taking a photo twice for a single photo and I believe it is responsible for my blurry photos. How can I change the settings so that it only flashes and makes the noise once?

Why would your photos be lost just because the battery died? They're still there. Take the card out and put it in a separate card reader and download them to your computer. typrice_227.jpg

When I connect the Coolpix S3000 to the computer to transfer pictures, it turns off and won't turn on

I've had some S3000's become gimmicy when connecting to a computer. The easiest way I've found to get photos off of the camera is to use a card reader connected to your computers USB.

Does my coolpix s3000 have a timer so i can press the take button and run to the couch so it will take in a couple seconds?

Coolpix S3000 has a self timer. There are two time values you can set it, 10 seconds and 2 seconds.
It is explained on page 32 of the user manual. If you dont have a user manual, download it free from :

My nikon coolpix s3000 has suddenly stoped downloading photos to my computer

Take your SD card out of the camera and transfer all the files,Now format the SD card as it might contain some errors,
Now it must work properly. Make sure that the card is transferred and formatted after a spree of shooting.

HOW CAN I USE VIDEO MODE ON FLASH

The camera's built-in flash is only for still photos. If you need additional light for videos then you will need a separate video light (and power supply).

I have a nikon coolpix s3000 purple.it is 12 megapixels 4x wide zoom and 2.7 inch lcd-zoom was out-not kept in case-dropped on carpet on cruise ship maybe about 3 feet-get lens error-screen comes on but...

Your photos will not be affected by this fault. Just take the memory card out of the camera and read it with a card reader attached to the computer.

Unfortunately the camera will probably need an expensive repair, or if that isn't economic, replacement.

When I take a photo they come out blurry. After I take the photo my camera makes a funny noise, it sounds like it comes from the lens. I have a Nikon Coolpix S210. What can I do to fix this? Kind Regards

hi. Take your camera to a camera repair shop. If it is relatively new it will be under warranty. If not, it is still worth repairing. There is no repair that most non technicians can do for this problem.

"hand" icon flashing

Hello,

It's likely your photos are blurry from camera motion, caused by taking a hand-held photo with a slow shutter speed, rather than out of focus.

The hand icon flashes when you don't have enough light to take a crisp (not blurry) photo without either using a tripod (or a flash). The reason for a flashing hand is you can't "hand-hold" the camera at the current settings - you need to use a tripod. If you are "zoomed in" (on a telephoto setting for your lens) you can sometimes get a crisp hand-held photo if you "zoom out" to a wider angle setting on the lens. (You need a steadier hand to hand-hold a telephoto lens setting than a wide-angle lens setting.)

You may have changed a setting that sets the ISO (the normal setting would be "auto") and if so, if you change the ISO to a high number, or to auto, this will help you take better photos in low light. Check your camera's user's manual to see how to check/change the ISO.

When you have more light the icon will stop flashing. If you need to take hand-held photos in low light then you need to use flash, or get a better camera that has better low light capabilities.

Flashing icon

Low shutter speed icon means that when you take photo the image will be blurry if camera moved.

Is there this icon when flashlight is turned on?
