Since i have put all components back togoether fridge has cooled down to required temperature, but fan in front of coil does not come on, what makes that fan come on? Or is it on only when door is closed??

In your reply you have mentioned freezer fan several times, there is no problem with my freezer or freezer fan. I'm trying to find out out when the fan in the fridge compartment comes on, the fan spins freely, but has no voltage at plug for fan, do you know anything about this model, do you have a circuit diagram??

The controller board for the fridge part is faulty - the fan should run almost constantly. It only stops when the temperature is at the cutoff point set by the thermostat and the compressor is inactive.
You need to replace the board. This is it

Hi Sparksnweld,

If the fan of your machine won't work it might caused by a defective fan or it just so happen that it has rust that prevent the motor from turning. There are several ways on how to check this problem, either you check the voltage of the freezer fan or just turn the fan to see if they move freely. Here are some steps that you may try to correct the problem.

Remember you safety, please unplug the machine or disconnect the power to the unit before attempting any repair. Also please wear gloves.

1. If the machine is not in defrost mode the freezer fun should be running. Also, if the compressor is running and the refrigerator is warm, the freezer fan should be running also.

2. If it's not running you need to have gain access to the freezer fan to check if it has a 120 volts.

3. If the fan is getting the correct and proper voltage and still won't work, you need to replace the fan.

4. Now if the fan is not getting voltage and compressor is still running, you might have a problem with the defrost timer.

5. There are some instances where a fan has developed rust that prevents the motor from turning. Please try to use screw driver then get it a turn. If the fan stopped because of the rust, you should replace it anyway.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I do not believe the problem is the fan. sounds like the frig. is low on Freon this is what will cause the ice build up. you need to find the leak, you can do this by spraying soapy water on coil tubes & watch for bubbles. repair leak & recharge.

Samsung SRS583HDP fridge not cooling. Side by side

Most likely the thermostat in the fridge, especially if it read 5 degrees until you reset it. Possibly the compressor in the fridge side as this fridge has twin cooling, or the circulating fan in the back of the fridge is frozen, which is a common problem as well.
Easiest things to try is to see if the fan is frozen and check if the fridge cooling is actually working. Turn off the fridge, remove the shelves, remove the 4 screws that hold in the bottom cover and the 2 screws that hold the water tank in. Cover should then come out a few inches. Reach behind and unplug the 2 plugs and pull out the cover. If the cover doesnt come out easily it may be glued to the back of the fridge by ice. Leave for a couple of hours and gently prize it off. Check for ice around the fan and that the fan spins freely. You could try sitting the cover inside the fridge, plug it in turn it back on for a few minutes (be careful) and then open the door and quickly look / listen to see if the fan is still spinning (it stops when you open the door). Leave the fridge off for a while until the ice disappears off the coils. Turn back on for half an hour. The coils should be icy again. Anything else call Samsung. If the deal in your country is the same as mine the fridge has a 2 year warranty but in the fine print the sealed compressor unit has five years on parts only. You could get the unit replaced for labour costs only. Check your warranty card.

Samsung model rs2577sl. fridge side not working

5 reasons for fridge and/or freezer getting warm: 1- the evaporator coils are icing up and won?t let air circulate. 2- the evaporator fan is not working to circulate air. 3- there is no refrigerant in the system. 4- no power to fridge or compressor. 5- the condenser coils have no air circulation check under the fridge behind the vent. if it is too dusty or the fan isn?t working, it is not getting enough airflow to cool down. replace fan and/or vacuum out the dust. if there is no power to the fridge, the light will be off. if the compressor is not running, there is a defrost timer that cuts the power temporarily to the compressor to melt ice on the coils. it?s located under the fridge behind the bottom vent. If the timer is off and the compressor is not going, the compressor or the main board is bad and needs replacing. there is also a temperature sensor on the evaporator coils that tells the defrost coil to turn on and when to turn off. if the defrost timer is on but the coil is not heating up, replace the sensor. if it still won?t heat up, it?s the timer or the coil. the easiest way to tell if there is no refrigerant- the freezer wall is warm and the compressor is loud. if there is no refrigerant, it may be more cost effective to replace the fridge. if you feel no air coming from the freezer vent, the fan needs replacing. If you feel air moving in the freezer but not the fridge, the channel from freezer to fridge is blocked. if the freezer has air and the rear freezer wall has frost on it, the evaporator coils are iced up and need defrosting. causes: 1. low refrigerant 2. no fan 3. too much humid air in fridge/freezer due to door open or bad door seals 4. the condensate drain tube is clogged if the seal around the door is ripped or not completely sealing, or there is condensation at the bottom or the walls of the fridge, replace the seal(s). no air, no fan. Replace if the refrigerant is low, it just needs a top off. but you need to be certified by the epa to move refrigerant, so get a professional. defrost solutions: unplug the fridge. remove the wall of the freezer that is frosted/icing up. use a hair dryer to melt the ice. do not get too close. you will see a drain under the evaporator coil. make sure it is not blocked. the water should run freely to a condensate pan under the fridge that evaporates the condensation with the hot line from the compressor. once the coil is free of ice, frost, and water, replace the panel and repair any of the problems that caused the icing up. plug the fridge in and turn it on. If it frosts up within a week, there is still an issue that not been taken care of.

I just had (have?) this same problem. I called out the repair man and in the end he suggested that I buy a new fridge because of all the problems reported with my model (RS2555SL) on the internet. Anyway, after a while I heard what sounded like a fan trying to spin on the fridge side. I unplugged the unit, removed the inside back panel on the fridge side. The entire coils and the fan had iced over. I removed all the ice, plugged the unit back in and it is now working. I will still replace this unit because I probably only corrected the symptom but the problem remains.

Freezer is frosted in back Refrigerator is warm

The problem is the defrost system located behind the freezer back panel.

The defrost system (AKA evap. system) is composed by an heating coil, a fan , and a defrost thermostat, and its function is avoiding ice formation on coil.
When defrost system is defective the fridge wont cool down properly

In your fridge , either evaporator fan, thermostat or heating element is faulty, and the ice on coils is preventing the appliance from cooling down properly.

Try first a complete defrost, leaving the unit unplugged overnight, if this does not fix the problem, then there is a fault.

Fridge is not cold enough, freezer is working fine, but has frost

Just had the same problem with my side-by-side.

In my case, the solution was to empty the freezer side, to access a back panel INSIDE the freezer covering the fan and cooling coils. Two screws held the back panel cover on, and when I removed the panel cover I found the cooling coils to be totally iced up, preventing the flow of cold air into the fridge side. I left the freezer open for a few hours until all the ice was melted, before replacing the inside panel. (I used a blow dryer to help speed up the ice melting).

Everything's working fine now for me - good luck with yours!

Fridgedaire Elite frost proof fridge part not cooling, Freezer sems fine

If the frozen side is colder than normal and some extra frost is forming where the fan blows, and there is ice in the bottom of freezer compartment, and the cool side is not cool enough, their is a good possability the defrosting unit is not removing all the frost and ice . the defrosting unit has a timer (usually near thermostat) that turns off the cooling fan and compressor and turns on a small heater around the evaporator ( about 20 minutes every 2 days) (evaporaror is cold heat exchanger coil inside the back wall behind a cover near the recirculating fan0, the fan circulates air to both compartments through two small openings, if these openeing are closed by ice buildup cool air can not circulate to the cool side. cure 1. remove all food and leave fridge off for 24 hours with doors open (take precautions to ensure children can't get locked in side and suffocate, if you get a qt of water in bottom of unit (may leak on floor) ice buildup that the defrost heater can not remove melted and was your problem . turn frig on replace food on unit. cure 2. turn frig off, remove food from both sides, remove shelves that block access to evaporator, remove cover over evaporator if you see the evaporator coils free of ice look at openings (2) to other side, one may be blocked with ice the other with frost, carefully melt ice with hair dryer.
If the evaporator coil is solid ice heater or timer or fan has failed. good luck
