IF THERE IS A LOUD HUM IN SPEAKERS THERE IS A GROUP OF 3 ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS ONE BIG AND TWO SMALLER ONES CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE CIRCUIT BOARD THE 470UF 35V IS BAD USE A ESR METER IT WILL CHECK BAD OR A CAP CHECKER IT READS ABOUT 170UF BE CAREFULL WHEN TAKING THE RADIO APART THE FERRITE BAR ANTENNA MAY BE STUCK TO THE TOP HALF.HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR BOSE A FEW MORE YEARS. IF YOU DONT THINK YOU HAVE THE EXPERTISE TO DO IT YOU CAN SEND IT TO ME AND I WILL FIX IT FOR $50 PLUS SHIPPING.

Yesterday, I found this note, replaced the capacitor mentioned, and my Wave Radio is BACK! Thanks for the note. I was working up a list of ALL of the electrolytic caps with the expectation that I would have to keep swapping until the problem went away.
A directed repair is FAR better!

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono".

Water spilt into top of wave radio cd system and it is dead

Bose radios do not have an integrated fuse link. the water has shorted the main board. the best action here is to, replace the entire unit. this can only be done by sending it in to bose. i understand that this is not the option you wanted but, all replacement boards and internal components are not available for consumer purchase.

This repair or, exchange can only be initiated and completed by the manufacture(bose).

I have a bose awrc1p radio display light changes

This could be the battery causing the display to act strangely. If the radio still works audio-wise, the following should fix the display: The older model wave radios have either a 9v or 3 AA batteries (accessible from the bottom). Remove any battery, and reset the system by unplugging the power cord for about 40 seconds. Plug it back in without the battery attached. If the problem goes away- replace the battery or batteries. (which is only there to hold the clock time, presets etc when not plugged in) BTW- you'll have to set the clock, alarm, presets etc after this procedure. If the problem doesn't go away, call Bose. I think they can repair this for $99 and/or offer a new one as a trade-in discounted.

I have a Bose Wave radio which seems to be dead, no sound, Displa

There's a line fuse inside the radio, mounted on a PC board. CAUTION: disconnect the set from power before opening the case or poking around inside. The fuse could be bad, but these sets are notorious for losing the power transformer. If the fuse is ok then you are looking at a $100 repair fee from Bose. You might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound, MUCH lower price.

Bose Wave Radio/CD Model AWRC1P

Yes There is a pigtail fuse in unit. It solders to main board. In order to replace you have to pull main p.c.b to get access to bottom of board.
