Let me guess, you have a flat ribbon type harness coming from AC unit to thermostat, correct?
Older Ac unit? What thermostat model came off, and what type are you trying to install?

Yes , That is the old 10 pin ribbon style and unfortunately, you'll have to purchase a conversion kit from Dometic, if you want to control everything from one. If you call ( 1-800-544-4881 ) with model number and serial number off unit on roof, they will give you part #s or sell you parts for the conversion kit, or you can go on site and contact by e-mail. ( www.dometicusa.com )
Some Camping World locations stock these as well.

Need to replace the starter

remove the battery terminals, remove wires from starter, remove starter, replace with new starter, hook wires back up to starter and battery. Remember where the wires go as you take them off, once you mix them up, its hard to figure out where they went if you don't take a mental note or lable them with masking tape etc.

I bought it used to hook up to an old air compresor I have and there were no taged wires to guide me on how to connect a power cord. just a lable on the outside showing me what color wire goes to each...

We are talking about a 115 Volt AC motor, I believe. The black wire will be connected to the small blade of a polarized plug, also known as a cap. The white wire will attach to the large or wide blade of that same plug. The green wire will attach to the U shaped prong.

I trust this answers your question?

A thermostat is nothing more than a temperature actuated switch.

A switch breaks a "Hot Wire" going to a load (light, fireplace, fan, etc.)

I need a new battery on my '97 honda accord. can't figure out if it's 4 or 6 cylinder. it's used and i don't have a manual. how do i figure it out?

There is a lable (sticker) in engine compartment with info for this car, might be on the hood or radiator support or fender well areas.
See what lable you can find under the hood and read them all , one of them has specs for the engine size.
2.2l - 4cyl.
2.7l - 6cyl.
The other way , see how many wires coming out of ignition distributor , if it's 4 - you have 4cyl. , if it's 7 - you have 6cyl.

How to wire to attic fan? Old Sping loaded timer has two wire connections Marked LINE and LOAD . There are two Romex- Three wire cables with Black , White (Common) and bare (Grd) wires coming into this box...

OK, your new switch will require the use of a neutral wire. So you will have to do what is called a pigtail. You will have to twist another white wire in with your other white wires to attach your neutrals to your switch. Note: white wires are called neutral not common. Hook the wires that were originally hooked up to your LINE to your HOT (Black) on your new timer, and the what was originally LOAD up to the new timer LOAD. SO as far as wiring all that will change is your white wires that need to attach to your timer NEUTRAL.

06 cobalt stock system hook up

I cant really assist in this matter but I can let you know that I have a system in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt and that I have an aftermarket cd player installed. I had to pay $130 for a special adapter for it to be wired into the system because GM's newest idea of installing the stereo and airbags on the same wire scheme, is kind of a dumb idea.

Need to hook up a 200 pioneer stereo with wire harness from 96 honda accord to the wiring on a 64 impala

you'll need a small 12 v lamp to figure out which one has the power terminals. after mapping that out you need to find a small battery and hook it up to a pair of wires to figure out to which speaker the wires go to.

note : new car radios don't use the chassis ground as common (negative).. the head unit has a negative and positive wire for EACH speaker.
