Question about RCA DISH Network(r) 311 Satellite System

My Dish Network Solo 311 receiver stopped working. Acts like it's not getting any power. It's plugged snuggly into the outlet, and yes, the outlet is a working one.

It does sound like there could be a power problem with the receiver. The Dish Pro Plus LNB won't cause any issues with that receiver. If the receiver is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, try plugging it directly into the wall. If it is already directly into the wall, try a different outlet if available.

The 311 message means the HD is going bad. You will need a replacement receiver. Have you unplugged the receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plugged back in? If you still can't record, please call 1-800-333-3474 to order a replacement.

Hi, my name is Cheri Torres with DISH Network CustomerService. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. The bestway to reset a DISH Network receiver is by unplugging it again for only aboutten seconds then plugging it back in. If this does not work you may want to trya different outlet to plug the receiver into. If the receiver is not close to adifferent outlet you can also try using an extension cord to plug it into adifferent outlet. The only other way to try resetting your receiver is bypressing and holding down the power button on the front of the receiver forabout ten seconds. Hello, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. I'm sorry your guide is showing you incorrect information.

What may fix it is a hard reset where you unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 15 seconds and plug back in. If that doesn't work then try a check switch test. Go into Menu - 6 (System Setup) - 1 (Installation) - 1 (Point Dish) and select check switch then select test.

It is not working


I'm sorry to hear your DISH Network 311 receiver is not working, in order to further assist you can you please provide me with additional information? For example, was it working and has suddenly stopped working? Does it power on, can you see a light on the front of the receiver? Is it plugged directly into a electrical outlet on the wall, or is it plugged into a power strip/surge protector? If it is plugged into a power strip/surge protector please attempt to bypass and try plugging the receiver directly into the electrical outlet. DVR won't turn on. TV screen is black


This can be a variety of different things, ensure television is powered on, what color light do you see on the front of your DISH Network 311 receiver? The green light is the one you should be seeing if the receiver is in fact powered on. If the light is not on even after pressing the power button on both the remote & the receiver, then I would recommend checking the source from which the receiver is plugged in, is it plugged directly into a electrical outlet on your wall, or is it plugged into a power strip? If wall outlet, perhaps try a different outlet and see if that makes a difference, if it's plugged into a power strip or surge protector unplug from wall and unplug receiver from strip for 30 seconds and reconnect checking to see if issue has been resolved. While checking these things, I would also recommend double checking to ensure nothing may have become disconnected and that all cables are connected from the back of your receiver to the back of your tv and to the wall and they are hand tight. Hello tsaucier, my name is MichaelHurst with DISH Network. Is your receiver plugged directly to the wall outletor to a surge protector/power strip? Unplug the DISH receiver for 10 secondsand plug back in. (It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to becompleted). Ifthereceiver is currently plugged into a surge protector, bypass the surgeprotector and plug the receiver directly into a wall outlet. If you are stillhaving issues try another outlet. If this doesn't remedy the issue then thereceiver will have to be replaced.

Dish network program guide never updates automatically


Unplug your receiver from the power outlet and repower after 60 seconds. This should update the system and stop your issue. If it persists let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I changed out a tv and dont know how to program without a recieve


If you have a 311 receiver or any single/solo receiver than you will need to put the new set on channel 3. If you a have a duo receiver try 60air or 73cable. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
