Question about Sylvania CL772B 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

When I've been away from my computer for awhile, the screen goes black and no amount of clicking with the mouse or hitting the enter key can get it to come back on. I have to turn off my computer and restart to get the screen back. How can I fix this?

Check your settings for hibernation/power saving. Adjust those settings according to your personal preference.

Not sure, but try loading Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot and lowering screen resolution. In Safe Mode you can even run System Restore. It load to a previous date that you choose.

Y compaq pressario v2000 goes from black screen to intermittent normal screen. The black screen is on the computer 80% of the time and then the pics fade in and out

The screen on your laptop goes black after every few seconds.

It resumes after a mouse-click or after a key-press.

Solution

Click on Start --> In search bar, type power options and press Enter.

"Select a power plan" window will be opened.

Click on "Change plan settings" next to "Balanced (recommended)".

In "Turn off the display", select "Never" from the drop-down menu under both the options "On battery" and "Plugged in".

Now click on "Save changes" button.

hope this helps

How do you reposition text in a document screen

Highlight the text with the mouse by clicking the left mouse button and dragging. When you've highlighted what you want to move then hit the <ctrl> and "C" keys at the same time. Move the pointer to where you want the text to go and click the on spot. Then hit the <ctrl> and "V" keys at the same time. Voila... it's moved. ..Now just highlight the original text again and delete it.

My acer laptop screen goes black after i pass the log in screen

What you can try to do is hit "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" which should open task manager once you've reached the black screen. Click "File" from the menu bar and then "New Process". Type "explorer" in the box, and, Voila!, you should be able to see things again.

Sadly, this is indicative of a virus or corruption of the operating system. I'd recommend backing up all your stuff and then tapping "F8" while you're computer is turning on, hitting "Enter" on "Repair my Computer", clicking through the dialog box, and then select the "Acer Recovery" option. This will wipe everything back to factory defaults.

when it goes to the black screen give it a few seconds after the mouse shows up. Ctrl+Alt+Del and select task manager, then select the process tab. click on explorer, then right click on it and select end process from the pop up menu. once it has disappeared go back to the first tab programs. click new task, type explorer and hit enter. see where it gets you from there. if that doesnt help please recover your computer per manufacture instructions.

If sitting idol for awhile, the screen will no longer come up

Your computer is going into sleep or hibernation mode, have you tryed double clicking with the mouse while in this state. Or if your keyboard has a wake button then press this. Also try using the esc key located on the top right hand side on the screen. Hitting the Enter key can also bring it back to life.

When you say "screen goes black," does the computer power down, or is it still operating? Does the sleep light come on? Does it respond to the keyboard and mouse? (Example: press the power button momentarily, wait a few seconds for the "Do you really want to shut down" message to appear, even though you can't see it, then hit the return key to answer "OK," and see if it shuts down.) Does the screen go black or come out of black if you tap the computer?
While your computer is working, go to System Preferences / Desktop & Screen Saver, the Screen Saver tab, click Hot Corners, and set a corner of your screen to Put Display to Sleep. Then next time your screen goes black, mouse your way into that corner, pause a few seconds, then mouse back out and see if your screen returns.

Open the case up and remove the CMOS battery - it's probably a CR2032 or some sort - about the size of a quarter. It should clear the CMOS password and allow your computer to boot up correctly.

when you start the pc tap on the f8 key and choose safe mode from the menu then hit enter twicw, if your pc will start up in safe mode, then you can click start, then type MSCONFIG in the search box and hit enter ( or click start, all programs, accessories,Run, then type msconfig and hit enter) if you click on the startup tab, you can see everything thats checked is starting with windows, you ca uncheck all of these, and by repeating the steps above, check them back one or two a time, until you find the offending program. Google pacs-portal.com for an excellent site that will tell you what all the startup entries are and if you need them
