Question about Garden

1 Answer

I bought a used STIHL BR 340 backpack blower, it started fine the first couple tries, now it wont start. It almoast sounds like it is out of gas, but it is not. Or like I have it set to off. the only responce I get is from the pulling the cord, but no sound like it is turning over. Is there not a primer button on it like on my mower?

There should be a primer bulb under the carb, right by where the cord comes out at

Backpack blower will not shut off when knob is pushed to "stop". Have to disconnect spark plug boot to shut off blower.

Your off switch may be wet or disconnected. You can try spraying it with a little bit of contact cleaner or WD to clear the moisture. If this doesnt work you can pull a cover and trace back the wire and see if it just fell off or melted. Good luck and be safe!

Ignition coil br 420

There are 2 ignition modules that fit that model.
4203 400 1301 and 4203 400 1301.
Also check the ignition switch, remove earth cable from ignition module to double check that it isn't a dodgy earth lead. Ignition modules cost around 50 pounds + vat
