SOURCE: Microsoft notebook mouse 5000 Wheel scroll stopped

Fixing the wheel/scroll malfunction was as simple as a reboot. I usually shut down in hibernate. Apparently the system needed a complete reboot to reset.

Thank you for following up.

SOURCE: Wheel will not do just a standard scroll

You should make sure that you have the LX7 Setpoint software installed to set the features you want. For the scroll button or button three if pressed, I have mine set to zoom (first selection). The scroll function of the wheel should be automatic. Go the mouse movement settings and set the scroll size to 6 lines. That should allow you to scroll your pages adequately. If this helps send a reply for others to view.

Lost receiver for microsoft wireless mouse 5000 model 1387. Can i use my sandisk cruzer flash drive as a receiver?

A flash drive will not work as a receiver, you could try purchasing a new receiver for it, if you cannot find one for your model try to find another of the same brand as they are the most likely to work. Best bet really is to take your mouse with you to a store and try with one of the demo computers to make it work. Even if you don't want to buy it there you could get your research done all at once.

Can not get Microsoft 5000 wireless mouse to Pan in AutoCAd 09

Do you use the "hold middle click" way of panning? If so, check that in the Windows Ctrl Panel under Mouse, that the scroll wheel is set for middle click. Why this is not default on all new mice I do not know!

The scroll button on my mouse is stuck, will not turn.

If the scroll button is sticky, take a q-tip and clean the wheel off on the outside and as much in the inside as possible. Dampen the q-tip with water.

If that doesnt' work, look for screws that hold the mouse together, unscrew the screws and take the mouse apart. At that point clean the scroll button and then put everything back together.

If the mouse still doesn't work properly then at that point, you'll need to get a new mouse.

Scroll wheel stopped turning, seems to be hanging up due to an alignment problem. How can I open it to take a look inside?

If your scroll wheel turns but you don't feel the 'notches' it is most likely stripped. I've repaired my Logitech, and based on what I saw inside, I doubt that it's an alignment issue.

If it's stripped, and the hexagonal end of the wheel's axle that fits into the receptor has lost its hex shape, I have a perfect fix.

I tried gluing it, but that only lasted as long as the glue. What I did instead was remove the wheel, thread a thin rubber band through the receptor, pull the rubber band tight and then reinstall the wheel. Once tension on the rubber band was released, it expanded again, making a tight friction fit of the wheel's axle and the receptor.

Hope that helps.

Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000

Assign a keystroke to the mouse, in this instance I assigned 'p' for pan (as per the .pgp file short cuts etc) against the scroll wheel click.

Click the scroll wheel, 'p' comes up on the cad screen, right click to confirm then the pan icon appears, hold the left mouse button and drag at your leisure. Yet to find a fix for Inventor.

Not ideal, but better than nothing at presnt.
