Open up my computer and open the cd drive then look for setup.exe and run that let me know if that helps.

My pc doesn t boot from cd driver

If you are using a CD drive, it is probably just too old and can't read anything anymore. Try running an Optical Drive (CD) cleaning disc in it.

I can put a Movie dvd into D: drive it works,. I put a pc registry mechanic security/ cleaning cd into d: Drive it doesnt work, whats the problem?

Do you mean that the security disk doesn't autorun or that you can't access it from the Computer (My Computer) windows Explorer?

If it is the former, Microsoft has disabled Autorun for anything that has .exe files by default. (It was done during a Windows update quite a while ago.) Media (movies and CDs) discs are generally allowed to AutoPlay since they rarely carry malicious software.

Double left-click on the Computer (My Computer) icon (or press Start > Computer). Then double-click on the optical drive icon. Once you open the optical drive folder, look for an Install program (.msi) or an executable program (.exe). Double-click to run the program.

To change the Autorun settings, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Then click on Autoplay and change the setting for Software and Games. If you do this, it may get reset later. (This is for Windows 7; it will be similar in other versions of Windows.)

If you can't access the cleaning CD from Windows Explorer, I'd suggest you try the disc on another computer and check it for damage (scratches or an incorrect .iso burn).

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with some additional details if you need more assistance.

How do I reinstall Toshiba operating system. I have the disks.

You should be able to put in the installation disk and start the computer. It should start running the disk upon startup. If the disk doesn't run you may have to press F2 at startup (when it prompts to go to setup) this will take you into the bios where you can set the first boot device to the cd drive. If it is set to the hard drive and you have no operating system on it, it will never install the cd's. I hope this helps and please rate my answer so I get points for it.

My EasyCap DC60 shows the greean light when I put it in the computer but it doesn't show the video and because it doesn't show the video I think the audio doesn't work. Please help.

You need to reset the BIOS of the Motherboard.
For easy repair, just remove the battery ( looks like a button ) on the motherboard, wait for 1- 2 minutes, then place it back again, that way should fix the problems

CD driver do not read any file

Hi there,

Does it recognize any cd you put in the drive or is it only one cd it doesn't recognize?

Please check if the cd drive is recognized by your computer:

Click Start go to My Computer (XP) / Computer (Vista/Win 7)
and check if you can see the drive. (if it's not there you may have to reseat the drive to make sure that the cables connecting it to motherboard are tight)

check the status in the Device Manager:

On your Keyboard press and hold the Windows Key then press the letter R
once the Run box comes up type in devmgmt.msc and the device manager should appear.

On the device manager look for the cd / dvd drive see wether it has an exclamation point a red x mark or a down arrow or it looks normal.

if it has a yellow exclamation point press and hold the windows logo then the letter R again and type regedit:

On regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and the delete the upper and lower filters. Close Regedit and restart the computer.

if it has a red x mark right click on the cd drive in the drive in the device manager and the choose uninstall and restart the computer.

If it has a down arrow right click on the drive and click Enable.

If the above steps doesn't work or if it doesn't recognize all types of media you put in it, that might mean that your cd drive is busted and it needs to be replaced.

Hope you find this helpful!

I want to convert windows vista to xp but not succes. windows vista boot easy but windows xp i couldn't in my hp G-60 laptop. how it do

Hi there,

You jave to do a clean install, simply put the xp cd in the cd/dvd drive and reboot the computer, please make sure that your cd/dvd drive is the first option on the boot priority. Normally you find these setings in the bios(setup) and you have to press a button when the computer start. Normally they write on the screen : press "(the button)" to setup.

Hope that helps

Password problem

Sounds like a bios password. check which bios your machine and google bios backdoor passwords. You will find a list of master passwords. If this doesn't work try removing the bios battery then power on the machine and switch it off again. replace the battery and your machine might start. I have successfully used both methods.
