Did you disconnect the battery by chance? It's most likely an anti-theft device that prevents someone from taking your radio and putting it in there vehicle. Call your local Fiat dealer and they'll instruct you on what to do.

Contact Fiat dealer service center and they can get you the code for your car for a fee from the vehicle data system. They will ask you for your VIN (vehicle identification number ) and most likely proof of ownership.

I changed the battery and my radio went into security it now ask for a code and i dont know it how can i fix this problem ?

Hi,

The code for your radio is usually in with the service documentation and mamufacturers will put it on a card about the size of a credit card. Sometimes the code will be handwritten into one of the owners manuals so leaf through these as well to see if it is present anywhere.

If the code is not to be found in the documentation your local dealer can provide the code from their database but there is usually a charge for doing so. Ford for example charge $30 or Mercedes $60.

If you have Fiat, Renault or European Ford you can try this site which I can recommend. They can decode these types of radios directly from their serial number along with Becker units fitted to BMW, Porsche and Mercedes by request and at a much lower cost than a dealer charges.

Not all makes or radio models can be decoded this way so decoding services are limited to certain radios.

Hope this helps. Any questions just let me know. Thanks for using FixYa

Press the station buttons if the code is 3 6 5, press 1 three times press 2 six times and so on when all the code is in press the next button this should bring on the radio.

Put the wrong fuel in fiat x1/9?

Hi Claire,
You are having fun with your little Fiat.... Not !
Yes.. it is recommended that you run your classic Fiat engine on leaded fuel, as this give lubrication to the valves and stems on the engine cylinder head.
If you have been running the car for more than a tank or two of unleaded fuel, you will start giving wear to the valves and guides.
I recommend you charge up your battery and see if you can get it running again.
There is an additive you can put in to the fuel tank, to make your fuel compatible with your engine, available a Halfords.

I hope I have been of help.
Notify me if you have any further questions that you need answering.

Good Luck !

John.
