When you have the tv connected and both on, Switch the TV to the HDMI feed then press the [FN] key and hold and start pressing the [F4] key counting to 10 between presses. You have to tell the computer bios to activate the external port and send video signal to that port.

Connect cable hdmi

Make sure the laptop has diverted its video to the HDMI port. Try this sequence. Lap top off....TV on...connect HDMI cable. Turn on laptop. Switch laptop video to HDMI if it won't do it automatically.

When I connect my laptop to my tv with an HDMI cable the video works but the sound comes out the laptops speakers. How do I get sound to the tv?

What operating system are you using? If you are using Windows 7, right click on the Volume icon on the system tray and select "Playback Devices". A window would pop up showing you speaker and HDMI. Select HDMI and then choose the "Set Default" Button on top of the OK button. Thats it! If you want the sound to come out of the laptop again when you disconnect the HDMI from your TV, you have to do this again, then choose the speakers.
Cheers!

I'm staying at a Hotel in Atlanta that has 42 inch LG LCD TV's and I'm trying to connect a DVD Blue Ray directly to the TV with HDMI Cable and set the TV to HDMI input setting and Nothing happens except...

I would call the front desk. They usually have a maintenance person who can help you with the connection. If the TV HDMI port is not functioning, they may be able to swap tv's or move you to another room! Good luck!

I try to hookup a Sony BDP-S360 blue ray player via HDMI and all i get is picture static

Try another Hdmi wire. Try another Hdmi source. Try another Hdmi port. If all else fails, replace the board with the Hdmi port on the tv.(I forgot the name of the board)

plug the sony player into your home network via a network cable ( should be a network port ( RJ45 port ) on the back of it and then update the firmware - unless its already the latest version, if it is then post back with any error messages or whats happening exactly when you try to select HDMI or is it greyed out ?

PS3 not working on 42'' JVC via HDMI cable port

I have the PS3 and this TV and it works....Try this.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect HDMI from TV to PS3
3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV for the PS3(important)
4.Turn OFF PS3 if it is ON.
5. hold [I/O] Power button on PS3
6. Wait about 5 second and you should get the "HDMI Detected" or some similar message.
7. Configure the HDMI output for the PS3

Also, If you set the PS3 to "auto" for hdmi, it may set the resolution to 1080i. You may want to deselect everthing but the 1080P.
