There should be a recovery option with your email and password you entered in the beginning, you will not however get back all your downloaded content only your profile PSN and game saves maybe.

Playstation 3 not playing games but will play blu ray discs

Make sure that your firmware is updated correctly. Also make sure the games are the correct region for the unit you're playing on. You may have an incorrect region setup on the PS3. PS3 games are region locked, either being PAL or NTSC. If the PS3 is set to read PAL (by being set to a region that is PAL, like the UK, Europe, and Japan) it will not read or play an NTSC disc.

Misconfigured or corrupted firmware installations can also cause this problem. Furthermore, pirated games will not play, because they do not have the appropriate security key on the disc.

You can try testing this by creating a new profile on the PS3 and trying to play the games. If you can play them with the new profile, then there is a corruption with the old profile. If you can't play them in the new profile, then it could be the firmware.

Lastly you may have a blown drive. Most PS3 games are dual layer blu ray discs capable of storing large amounts of data. The blu ray drive in the PS3 uses a sequenced dual laser to read the game. If one of the laser emitters has blown, it won't read the game correctly. However, since it doesn't use both emitters to read blu ray movie disks or dvds they'll still play correctly.

Hi, My question is regarding :"TIGER

It sounds as though you overwrote the original profile instead of creating a new one. Look in the menu for a load option, if there isn't one then the game does now allow multiple profiles and your old profile is gone. If there is, look to see if your old one is there, if not it is overwritten and you can no longer get it back unless you backed your save games up to a flash drive.

My playstation network profile was delete, is there away to restore it?

If it was deleted from your PS3, yes, you can restore it.

Simply "recreate" it by signing up for the PSN again, using the same screen name as before. Once you create a PSN name, it's in the server for good, so your trophies should sync back up once you recreate your screen name. You should even be able to use the old password and simply sign back in.

Here are the steps:

  1. go to "sign up for psn"
  2. choose "use an existing account"
  3. enter your email and password of the account you lost

PS3 60gb one year old and not working, when you switch on goes to green for a few seconds and the off to red.

Hold the reset button while the system is off for approximately 5 seconds, you will hear a series of beeps from the system which will indicate a 'formal' reset has been made

a 'master' or 'hard' reset will actually wipe your systems data and restore the system back to factory settings... which will cause you to lose all your save game and profile data...

Got new computer can i get Perks back and My Five Stares on my Player. was Leval 55 now 1 agin. ?????

Yes you can from your old PC.

On your OLD PC, go to your directory where you installed COD4
For me, it's J:\Call of Duty4\players\profiles
Copy the Profile Folder, named by your Profile Name, and the .txt "active"
Copy it to a external device, transfer to your new PC in the COD4 directory under the "profiles" folder.
Load CoD4, and it will appear.

Good luck
