Question about JVC LT32X667 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

After a power outage in our area, we unplugged the tv. Today, when power was restored, we plugged it back in, but it will only come on for 3 or 4 seconds, then shuts itself off. Won't come on again until we unplug it and plug it back in. But it still only stays on for a few seconds. The satellite unit is operating fine, as we have another tv in the bedroom that is working perfectly. When this jvc comes on for a brief moment, it is working fine.

Flip the power breaker off and then on. See if that makes it work.

SOURCE: lightening storm, brief power outage. When power returned, my JVC

You have been affected by the lightning.

It is possible that your television may come back...

Un-plug the television and let is sit for an hour or more. Plug the television back in and allow it to re-boot. If it does not come back then, turn it on and off a few times to see if it gets any better.

Unfortunately, your TV may need repair or replacement. To avoid this in the future, use a good quality surge protector like Panamax .

Snow Storm today knocked out main power to everyone in our area for a few hours. Ever since power was restored, our 200 AMP Main trips every 2.5 to 3 hours.

Could be major safety issue. They trip when too much amperage cause them to heat up and trip the bimetal. Get an electrician now, please.

Had a power outage and tv was on when power came back on , heard a pop , now tv has no sound ?

If you have one of the newer flat screen TV sets; power the TV off and then unplug the set from the wall outlet for a couple of minutes and then plug the TV set back in and then power it back up. Lots of newer flat screens have a power supply system that will not reset properly after a voltage spike or a power outage that is a short duration. By unplugging from the wall outlet and letting the power supply drain all the way to a zero (0) setting it usually resets ok when you power it back up. good luck, Dennis

I have a Panasonic plasma, & we just had a power outage today... every time we have one, it won't power back on. The call center is closed for the night, & I can't remember what they told me to do the last...

First, unplug the TV, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute, then plug back in & try it. This allows the unit to reset.
Be sure you AC outlet breaker has not tripped.
could also be the TV fuse or power supply PCB.
You should be sure to put a good surge protector in line with this TV as these constant surges are going to severely shorten the life of the unit.

We had a power outage now the T.V. won't turn back on, there are no lights on or blinking. I can't get it to show any signs of life. What's the deal please help!

Unplug the set for 2 hours then plug it back in. After a power outage when the power returns it will sometimes send tvs into a dumb mode, unpluging will reset the tv to factory settings and it should run just fine

Blinking yellow light ,no picture or sound.

You have done all you can do. If you had a power outage, when the power came back on a it surged and probably caused a Power Supply problem or something in the micro controller to fail. Either way it 's not good. I would call Toshiba and let them guide you to a Service Facility that can check it out. Depending on your Homeowners Insurance, repairs could be coverd or unit be replaced depending on cost to repair.
Sorry I am not able to help further,
