I know my ID but cannot get my password to work or remember the security answers. How can I get a new password that will work?

1. Go to My Apple ID and select "Reset your password."
2. Enter your Apple ID, then select Next. If you don't remember it, choose Forgot your Apple ID.
3. After you enter your Apple ID, there are three ways you can reset your password. Choose an option below:

• Answer your security questions. Use these steps if you know the answers to your security questions.

• Use email authentication. We'll send you an email that you can use to reset your password.

• Use two-step verification. If you set up two-step verification, you can use it to reset your password. You just need your recovery key and a trusted device.

Nowadays, I believe that all users must actually have an AppleID to use iTunes, which is different than a password for iTunes. In other words, I used to sign into iTunes using my iTunes user name and password, but somewhere along the way, I was required to acquire an AppleID instead. An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more.

I cannot tell by your question if you already have an AppleID and forgot the password for that account, or if you're trying to use your old iTunes account and forgot that password. If it's the latter, I don't think your old iTunes user name and password would work anyway. But I could be wrong.

If it's the former, here are the instructions for resetting your AppleID password (copied and pasted, obviously!):

Try resetting the password.If you forget your Apple ID password or don't know it, choose from the following options to reset your password. If you have access to the email addresses associated with your Apple ID

5. Apple will send a password-reset email to the primary address or verified rescue address associated with your Apple ID. Didn't receive the email?
6. Open the message and select the link to reset your password.
7. When the My Apple ID page opens, enter and confirm your new password, then select Reset Password.

Changing your password for your Apple ID if you know it is easy:

Follow these steps to change your Apple ID password.

3. If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you're unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.

5. In the "Choose a new password" section, click Change Password.
6. Enter your old password, then enter a new password and confirm the new password. Click Save when done.

5. After entering the verification code, create your new password and click Reset Password.

If you don't have your Recovery Key or are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the instructions for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.

You will need to verify your identity using two separate pieces of information which will vary depending on your account, but after verifying your identity you will be able to have a password reset email sent to you within 24 hours.

when you forget the password and security question and answer u can reset the password by selecting option to send the link to your gmail id (if you remember the gmail password). they will send the Fb link to your mail id to reset the password. if you dont succeed by this procedure you need to send your id to facebook support . they will reset and send the new password to your mail id.

• Your ZIP or postal code (at the time you created your Yahoo! account or when you last updated it)
• Your alternate email address -Note: You must have access to this email address

Be sure to provide the same information you gave the last time you registered for a new Yahoo! ID or password or the last time you updated your account.
If you forgot your password, you can create a new one. But first you'll have to provide the following information so we can confirm your identity:

• Alternate email address, mobile phone number, or the answers to your secret questions

A Reset Your Password link will be sent to your alternate email address. Click the link and enter your new password in the Reset your password page.

Hello there!

Please remember that you must always enter your correct username and password and the security question/answer otherwise you will not access your email. You may try to click the "forgot password" then you have to check your alternate email that you register, from there a link will prompt you to reset or retrieve your password.

In any case, you just have to create a new email.

If you remember your security answers then you can get your password back. click on forgot password link if you have given a standby id then you can get that password on that id. If not then you have to answer your security questions and you can reset your password. If you have not given secondary id and you don't remember your secret answer then you can't do anything.

If you remember your security question and its answer then you can get your password. Yahoo provides this facility. They ask two security question and if you answer them correctly then you can reset your password.
