Question about Belkin Basic Wireless Router
Hi, network key is the password for your router, sumtimes its written on a sticker on the side or bottom of the router, if u dont have the password or was never given one or never set one up then you need to call your service provider and they will then issue you with the password (network key) you then enter this password or key wen asked then it will allow you to connect to the wireless network,.
here is anuva way of getting the network key but when you have entered the dos screen via start button make sure when you have got the ip address that you open a new tab or window then in the top line where you see it say http u need to delete that then enter ur ip address usint http:// then enter ur ip address wivout the spaces so it will look something like this http://188.8.131.52 then u hit search and that should then display the network key on the screen
here is the method for getting your password below if u have problems give me a shout back ok.
In the address bar of Internet Explorer type the router's IP address. You can check the IP address by starting a DOS box within Windows -- Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.
In the DOS box type IPCONFIG /ALL and the list will include an entry marked gateway and the IP address next to it is usually the IP address of your router.
Back at Internet Explorer type in the address (usually 192.168.0.1 or similar) and a login box should appear. The User name is usually Admin and the Password may be admin or password or the router brand name or 1234.
If successful you should then see the router's user interface and be able to see the WEP passphrase or set a new one. Often with WEP and mixed brands you are better off applying the HEX code produced by the router directly to the other equipment (rather than the alphabetical passphrase).
