Hi

can you be a little bit more specific? what happens when you plug in the camera, do you get a message what does it say? do you hear the ding sound as you plug it in and turn it on? does it work with any other computers?

I cannot get my E850 to download pictures. Do not have CD. Where can I get software

There are download drivers available for this camera. Log onto www.opendrivers.com/driver/.../ge-ditigal-camera-e850-firmware-v1.04-free -download.html -. Try it. Make a CD backup once its downloaded. Also be sure you have the right USB cable between camera and computer. Otherwise, take out the SDS storage card and plug that into a $19 usb card reader and you don't have to worry about slow downloads. Some photo editing programs such as PhotoShop and even some freeware may red directly from the camera without any download software.

Lens error appears on my ge e850 camera lcd screen

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Trying to upload pictures from my ge E850 but no response. I do not have the software cd.

Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

On my GE E850 Camera the view screen just turned black. Still takes pictures but I cannot see them on the screen

Hi I am vortash .. it sounds like the backlight on your screen has gone or the power supply to it , if your camera has an av output try it and see if you are getting a picture from it that way .
If not it may be a video output fault even though your still getting pictures ,as that is a different system . You will need to check the backlight and see if it is geting power , if your not adept at this type of thing i would suggest a repair shop . You may end up doing more damage than good if you don't know what your doing .. regards Vortash

I have no power, I tried changing batterie with a new one but it still doesn't work

I understood that this model takes special battery pack ...so try to replace the batteries with high quality ones...the regular batteries are not able to power it up ... and by special I mean try something a little more expensive ....I believe its an issue related with the amperage ..anyway ...in case you know for certain the camera is in good condition ....I'm talking by experience cause I also had the same problem with a Panasonic one ...with almost the same tech specifications...and it did powered up after I bought better quality batteries... let me know how it worked up ...have a good day !

Displayscreen scratched on ge e850

Most likely you cannot. I recommend calling support. If you have warrenty on the product, they may give you a new screen, but since it's accidental damage, they may not.
