Are you trying to format your computer? If yes, you need to get the CD that came with your computer or the operating system disc you used to install the windows. Insert the disc on the CD-DVD drive and restart your computer. Watch for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD... message. To boot to the CD or DVD, you'll need to press any key on your keyboard (like the space bar) within the few seconds that the message is on the screen. The Windows installation will now begin. Just make sure that you have a good back-up of your files before you do this. Good Luck!

Reboot with cd

Put the cd in the drive and the system might be set to boot from it automatically.

If not, Put the cd in the drive and watch your screen for which key it says to hit to change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence, when you see the message, hit that key. This is a temporary change only good for the current boot cycle.

If you want to make a permanent change to the boot order or boot sequence, reboot your system and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to enter the Bios or System Setup. When you see the message, hit the key. Tab over to change the boot order or boot sequence. Normally you would make the CD/DvD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd, because if the hard drive fails or has a problem you can always insert the cd and it will boot from it first. Just make sure when you boot that there is no music cd or movie dvd in the drive or you will get a message saying something to the effect of Unbootable device.

How should the BIOS be set up?

This is the recommended way to do it.Turn on your computer and press F2 to enter the system setup. If you have problems with the Bios you have to get a Bios upgrade by getting software from dell then you can do the following.Reset the boot sequence to boot first from the floppy drive or the CD drive (depending on whether your flash BIOS update is supplied on floppy disk or CD).Insert the flash BIOS update floppy disk or CD, and reboot the computer. The computer updates the BIOS and then automatically reboots. mmediately press F2 to enter the system setup program, and reset the boot sequence to the normal setting. Then exit the system setup program.

My computer does not let reboot in none of the reboot options?hdd, cdrom, patition none of them wats wrong?

Must have messed up the CMOS reboot sequence. Enter the CMOS menu screen. Go through the menus and look for "Boot Sequence", and set this to your primary HD for now.
Once you get your system up, you can change the Boot sequence to CDR first, followed by HD.

When I turn on my computer it goes to either choosing safe mode,

There are many reason for a system goes to safe mode directly.here is the solution to solve the issue

Follow the steps:

Immediately begin tapping the "F8" key when the reboot sequence begins (make sure your "F Lock" key is activated.) Once the black "safe mode" screen appears, then first try selecting the option "Start Windows Normally" using your mouse or keyboard up and down keys. Allow Windows to boot, log into your profile and wait for the program to fully configure. Once that is completed, go to the "Start" button and select "reboot." If all is well, the "safe mode" will not reappear.

If that fails, then repeat the reboot sequence -- tapping the "F8" key repeatedly -- and when "safe mode" reappears, choose the "Last Known Good Configuration" selection and allow it to go through the same sequence as in the above paragraph.

If the above does not work and your system continues to first boot into "safe mode" it is possible that a setting in the boot configuration file is checked.

For that go to start -> RUN and Type in "msconfig" in the provided box and hit "enter." The "System Configuration Utility" will appear. Using your mouse or right arrow key, select the "BOOT.INI" tab. Look for the "boot options" section and the "SAFEBOOT" selection box. If it is checked, uncheck it, select the "Apply" button and then "OK."
Go to the "Start" button and select "reboot" and your machine should now boot directly into Windows.

Stuck on Red

Normally mean fatal error on this machine you can hold the go button down for a couple of seconds and it might give you a secondary light sequence. Normally if the red light is on and nothing happens the most common fault is the fuser unit is not warming up.

You will have to replace the fuser unit, but this all depends on the second light sequence.

Thanks J
