How do i reboot my acer aspire E1-510 from cd or dvd disc

It appears to be F2 on startup when you first see the Acer Logo
I searched the model via www.acer.com - aspire E1-510 and there are links to the manuals,
A note says. to activeate the BIOS utility press <F2> when you see the Acer logo during boot up.
you should then be able to select the boot order. e.g CD/ DVD, USB, Hard Disk etc.
Also try F9 for Windows boot options.

Try this:

Restore Point:

Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.

Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem..

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If Restore does not work and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a Bootable Repair Disk to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Startup Repair Disk from it.
Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.
At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.
Above link shows what the process looks like, and a how-to, as it loads to the Repair Options.
Neosmart contains the contents of the Windows Vista DVD\'s "recovery center," as we\'ve come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it\'s decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows\' users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own.
Read all info at the website about creating and using it:
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It makes a very good Vista Startup Repair Disk.
You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.
Note: It is not a reinstall disc.
I need a acer aspire one happy recovery disk
The Acer Aspire One Netbook has a hidden partition on its hard disk drive which allows recovery of
1. operating system to original factory image (with no recovery disk required)
2. applications (selectable)
3. drivers (selectable)
If the netbook came with pre-installed Windows XP, use Acer eRecovery Management by
1. pressing start button at bottom left corner of Taskbar
2. hover cursor over All Programs then Acer Empowering Technology
3. then click on Acer eRecovery Management and follow subsequent recovery instructions
Alternatively, on powering up, press Alt and F10 together while Acer logo is showing.
If this doesn't work, there is the possibility that the D2D recovery is not enabled for startup.
To enable D2D recovery,
1. press F2 on powering up to get into the startup utility
2. cursor over to the Main tab
3. cursor down to D2D and enable it.
4. save changes when exiting - system will reboot
5. again, press Alt and F10 together while Acer logo is showing.
On switching on acer aspire one have immediately After first screen screen stating Windows could not start because following file Is missing \windows\system32\config\ system You can attempt to...
Pressing F2 on startup enters the Setup Utility and a password to that has been set up on your netbook. In any case, you can try pressing Alt and F10 at startup to get into Acer eRecovery Management which can then restore the operating system to its original factory condition. Be aware that doing the restore clears the hard disk partition containing the operating system and all user data will be erased.
It is getting stuck at the startup screen
hi,
Press the del or f2 or f10 key to change the boot order depending on model.
Set it so it boots off the CDROM drive, put in your system disk and select repair.
Hopefully that will sort it.
It happens when no boot device is selected, the default is network boot first, you must select CDROM/DVDROM or HD as your first startup device. boot up machine and enter bios setup think its F2 key to enter bios generally it del or f1 or f2 it may say onscreen at start if f2 doesnt work
in the bios set boot order to HD as firstboot option then save and exit
hope this helps
dont know if all acers do this but also if you press f12 on boot up it gives you current boot options select HD that way is current boot and would have to be done everytime
