How do i download and install audio output device on my dell latitude d610

Reboot the laptop, the Software should ID the Hardware and apply the generic driver, Or, Open Control Panel, Device Manager, San for Hardware Changes, the Scan should ID and apply the driver, reboot. OR, you can find the Dell Latitude D610 Windows XP drivers here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/latitude-d610. Run Windows Updates and Dell Updates for current and up-to-date drivers.

Install audio drivers, Has the OS been upgraded? Start by looking here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/latitude-d610. You can go to device manager and run a scan for hardware changes. reboot and try again to scan for hardware changes. Without your OS I cannot give you a more percise solution. The D610 has two audio jacks. The one closest to the monitor has a picture of a microphone above it, and the one closest to the user has a picture of headphones above it. Do you have your microphone plugged into the correct jack?

The XP drivers will work on Win7. Download Dell driver R99254 from the link that i have provided below and install the audio drivers >>>>>

Once its downloaded right click on the exe file and run is as administrator, you may get an error message so just click on the software installed properly.

Restart the laptop and you should have sound. If you need anymore advice please post back.

PROBABLY THE SOUND CARD DRIVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED. DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS FROM THE BELOW GIVEN LINK AND INSTALL THE SOUND DRIVER.

Go to the DELL support page

Click drivers & download
enter your system type and model

You will then be presented with all the drivers for your D610.
Download the Sigmatel driver in the Audio section.
Save the file then run to install the driver.

Download the Audio Sigmatel driver and run the file to install the driver.

Go on this site and click the button download your free manual just enter the security code to the box and download the User Manual of Your laptop.. This will help and guide you where to install the external speaker..

try uninstalling it from device manager and downloading new drivers from dell.com
