Log on to your router and check to make sure your wireless internet is active and that you have the correct password. Here is a link to a list of IP's you can type in to your browser to access your router from your computer.

DOESN'T DETECT WIFI

The wireless feature on a Gateway computer allows you to connect to a network without the hassle of cables. This allows you to browse the Internet conveniently wherever you are. Gateway computers rely on Windows operating systems, which come with a built-in feature to manage your wireless connection. This feature makes turning off your wireless connection an easy process if, for a moment, you prefer to connect to the Internet using a wired connection.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel." Click Network and Internet Connections > Network Connection, if you are using a Windows XP Gateway computer. You should see your wireless connection. For Windows Vista and 7 Gateway computers, click "Network and Sharing Center" from the Control Panel and click "Manage Wireless Connections." You should see your wireless connection. Right-click your wireless connection and click "Disable" to turn it off. Close "Network Connections" when you are done.

Why won't my laptop connect wirelessly with my desktop?

If the network is now connected but you can't get on the Internet, then you need to check your internet setting in the Web browser. The web browser could be set up for modem, proxy, etc. You also have to make sure you are connecting to the wireless router, and not just creating a personal network to your other computer.

We would need more information. You might be connecting via wireless and there is a function key or wireless turn on switch on your lap top. I would have you refer to your service manual as you left no model information.

I have wireless Internet! I have a laptop, I tried to connect to it~ It will connect to the router, but won't connect to the Internet! Help!

How many wired and wireless computers do you have ion the network.
Do you have any wired computer ?
Connect your laptop to the router with the Ethernet cable and try to access Internet. See if the wired connection is working or not.
If the wired connection is working then I think you will need to check the wireless settings of the router and the laptop.

Hi!
There are many possible reasons why you can't connect to the internet and answering these questions might help narrow down your problem.
  1. Are you trying to connect to the internet wirelessly or with a wire?
  2. If you are connecting wirelessly, are you connected to any wireless network or did you enter the encryption key correctly?
  3. If you can't detect any wireless network then check if the wireless function of your laptop is enabled or not. That can be found as a slide switch at the side of your g550.
  4. What operating system are you using? Windows Vista, XP?
I hope you will find this helpful.
Thanks!

Unable to connect to the my wireless Internet

Try "rebooting" your internet. If it's fed through a router, disconnect the power to the router, as well as all of the connections, then reconnect them. Re-connect the power last.
Also, try moving closer to the source of your wireless internet. Sometimes the Dsi won't pick up on the signal because it has a weaker wireless receiver than a computer or most devices that will connect.

Connection problems

If Internet sharing is set up correctly one pc will be the one that connects directly to internet, the other will connect through a gateway or other device connected to your network. Check they have'nt both got the same IP address. Is this related to last problem, did you get the wireless card working wirelessly online?
