Tv sounds like it turns on but no pic no sound and none of the buttons on the set work but there is static on the screen for a sec. and then it seems to be turned off

sounds like the power supply board is bust. could just be a fuse. boards cost about 30 second hand

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... I assumes that there is a confused memory IC inside, due to improper data inputs. Try a hard reset to this set. Unplug it from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 10 minutes of so. It sounds like you have shorted CRT neck board, and it you probably would be better off buying a new LCD.

take the cords out of the back of the wii for 30 sec.

There is help for this in the user manual. Possible solutions I would try:

1. Make sure your source sound (TV, amp etc) is up high enough - if the sound is too low the headphones won't detect a signal.

2. Try changing the channel (the switch on the bottom left of the cradle base) and pressing the "Tune" button on your headphones. Try all three positions, pressing "Tune" at least 3 times in each position.

3. Take out batteries & turn off base, leave for 30 secs, reassamble and try step 2 again.

Should all work ok. I've been using mine for over a year and they're great!

The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech shop.
And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.

so use the warranty as is less than a yr old let them fix it....
